It was Ms. Jain who woke everyone up the next morning. Her voice came from far away but Divya woke up instantly. The whole night she had been tossing and turning around, it was cold and the seat was uncomfortable with Madhav's leg on her lap, Nandini's head on her shoulder and her bag and phone in her hand. It was the worst night that she had spent.
Groggily she opened her eyes and sat up straight as Ms. Jain called out for everyone's name, from the back seat Atharva was already cursing her asking her to shut up in a voice that could be heard only to them. After about a lot of difficulties they woke up and went down to have breakfast. Nadnini and Madhav didn't want to have anything and hence they went back to sleep.
The Hotel in which they were having their breakfast wasn't far off from the station. Divya remembered the first day that they had come here in Delhi and what an eventful time it was, alas all those days that already ended. She wondered why it was that good times have to always fly away so quickly.
The next shock came her way when she saw what was being served for breakfast. There were three huge serving bowls; one was filled with Aloo sabji, one with Aloo Paratha and one with Puris. The oil and the spice could be smelt from far away along with the greasiness that she could feel in the air.
Divya wondered how she even forgot that she was in the north and here these were what they usually had for breakfast. She couldn't even look at those oily and spicy things so early in the morning when she hadn't even drunk a glass of water. With a deep sigh she picked up the small bowl which was being used for sabji as she couldn't find the bowl for chocos, and filled it with Milk and then the chocos, while filling the chocos Aman walked up to her, and extended his hand and retrieved what looked like a cereal bowl.
Divya's mouth fell open like that of a fish as she kept on staring at the bowl in her hand than the one in Amans and back at him.
"I swear it wasn't there." She sounded as if she was trying to explain it to her or to herself whom she didn't know but the way Aman smiled at her made her huff.
"It's okay, After last night's episode this was bound to happen." The two walked upto the table where everyone was seated as Divya herself wondered if what all happened last night was reality or was she dreaming.
"Last night I don't know what had gotten into these two." Manav said as he slurped his aaloo paratha. Divya wondered how he managed to get that into his stomach so early in the morning. It was then she realized that she didn't even know what the time was.
"Areey we were just acting up." Simran explained to which divya nodded in agreement.
About an hour later everyone was back in the bus and much to everyone's surprise everyone was seated silently. Even Manav who would usually go about chatting was silent and seated in his place. It seemed as if something bad had happened, but all this silence was due to the disturbed sleep that they all had gone through last night.
At the station everyone got busy taking down their bags from the traveler and began walking off towards the platform, Divya found herself looking back at the bus, it seemed as if for these 8 days she had made many fond memories in it than anywhere else, and though she knew she shouldn't really get attached to things so quickly, she couldn't help herself feel bad for leaving it behind. It made her wonder how many more people like her would have travelled into this, would have made so many memories just like them and then would have left, leaving the traveller behind. If ever it were to be so that the bus had been a living being how many memories would he have of his own, so many people coming in each day, living the best as well as the worst moments while traveling about and then he becomes just a memory for them as well as them for him.
