Coincidence or destiny?

Chapter 31

Another week has gone by. Today, Yoona had to meet Baekhyun at a rooftop restaurant near her workplace. Because he didn't want her to spend time on the commute.

"Hello, Ms. Do you have a booking for the table?"

"Yes, with the name Byun Baekhyun." The waiter took her to the destined table and she saw Baekhyun sitting there.

Baekhyun saw her walking toward him and stood up to move her chair. Yoona thanked him and appreciated his manliness. They ordered the dinner meal with some awkwardness.

"Yoona, how was your work today? Anything strange?"

'What kind of question like this, Baek???' Baekhyun thought because of his silly question. Yoona answered him without hiding anything and talked about her stress with the new customer and the operation team. After that, the dishes came out to interrupt their little talk.

With delicious food on the table, no noise could be heard except eating. Baekhyun took this chance and asked her.

"Do you remember our high school time?" Yoona was surprised by this question as she didn't expect to hear about this topic. She noted his serious expression as he was recalling some sweet and bitter memories that they had.

They talked about their classmates, how hilarious their last party was, with faces full of art. They laughed happily after remembering those crazy days of their teenagers who only thought about playing. They reminded them of their blues of thinking about future goals until they reached the relationship topic.

"So, it's been a long time since I confessed my feelings on the last day of school." A short silence could be felt between them. The heartbeat of the nerve in Baekhyun might have come out if he hadn't controlled it. Then, he continued, "This time, as an adult with a stable job, without thinking about age, I want to ask you out again. Can you be my girlfriend?"

Yoona was shocked by his sudden confession. She stopped touching her hair with her hand because of the strong wind, but it still stuck there. She moved her head up to see him, but her brain couldn't process it at that minute, which made Baekhyun decide to tell her that she could think about this before telling him about the answer.

"Yoona, your hair..." He pointed out the hair on her hand, which was stuck there. Then she reorganized her hair again.

"You can think about this first. I'll wait for your answer."

Yoona agreed and they decided to go home as they didn't want to be awkward. The ride home was covered with silence as if their conscience wasn't there.

The next two days, it was time to meet with Sehun, as she had accepted his invitation, before meeting with Baekhyun. She didn't want to take back her word as they were colleagues at the same company. So, they decided to meet at a famous amusement park on a national day as they had a free day without work.

After taking many rides and having some lunch to rest, they came across the Ferris Wheel. 🎡 They sat there without much interaction as they appreciated the landscape from the high place. With too much silence, Sehun started to interact with her by telling her how spectacular and enormous the place was.

However, the unexpected couldn't escape from the reality that she was experiencing right now.

It was when Sehun talked about an unexpected topic. "I know that we only met for a short time in high school. Although, you might not remember it. But, my feelings for you have been growing since that time and I still remember that moment."

A pause came before he mustered up the courage to start these sentences.

"This time, I want to ask you. Will you go out with me?" Yoona couldn't believe what she just heard right now in this little box that rides round and round. Most importantly, someone just confessed to her two days ago.

The ride was awkward for 10 minutes because the ride hadn't finished yet. Yoona hadn't answered him yet as she didn't know what to do, which made him suggest that she should think about this carefully before giving her final answer. As they couldn't continue other activities, they separated to go to their homes while thinking about their memorable day.

Taking a serious thought about her future relationship with the help of her best friend. After a fortnight, Yoona decided to meet them.

On that day, she asked for permission from her boss as well as Sehun, who needed to meet her at a cafe shop.

Yoona stepped into the cafe while looking for Sehun, who had come earlier than her. Sehun smiled as he saw her while waving his hand. He was so excited as he anticipated her answer.

Yoona walked over to him with a shy smile and he got up from his chair to move her chair so she could sit. His heart beats like an adrenaline rush. She said thank you while brushing her hair to lock it in her ears.

They chatted a little bit while drinking their bubble drinks before the anticipated answer came out of her mouth.

"So... Sehun, my answer is..."
