Opposites || KARLNAP

Chapter 4

"Did you just say honk?" he raised an eyebrow.
"Oh- uhh.. yeah! I say that sometimes." I said, awkwardly.
"It's cool." Sapnap smiles at me and I'm not sure why, but I feel my cheeks warm up.

Karl POV:

I can feel my face grow more flustered by the second. Whats going on?

"You ok? You're pretty red." Sapnap asked me, bringing his finger up to my face and then stroking it gently against my right cheek. What the honk is happening?

he suddenly realised what he was doing and immediately removed his hand from my red,hot face.
"Oh- I'm really sorry. I don't know what came over me." Sapnap said, his face also growing a little red. I didn't say anything after that, I took deep breaths and eventually, I could feel my face cool down.

After that... moment... me and him continued to talk as usual. I'd like to say he's officially my new friend.

I saw Mrs Burns walk back into the classroom. Her eyes immediately stared at us both, making sure we weren't talking (Which we were).

She sat back down at her big, long wooden desk and begin typing into the old computer. Sapnap smiled at me and then began looking back down at his paper. He continued to doodle and draw little images.

But suddenly, he nudged my elbow and moved a scrunched up piece of paper over to me. I took it and unscrambled it.

Flakes are better than Mars ;)

His handwriting was messy and barely readable, but I could tell what it said. What an idiot. I thought to myself as I tried not to laugh.

I pulled my pen out of my pocket and begin to write a reply.

I then scrunch it back up and fling it over to Sapnap. He giggles as he opens it warily.

He looks back at me and rolls his eyes at my dumb reply. I smirk and then my attention is brought back to Mrs Burns.
"Detention is over. Head home now. Stay safe." She says, standing up and packing up her stuff.

I raise from my chair and put my belongings back into my bag. I then walk out of the classroom and plan to drive straight home. I notice that there is a lot of heavy rain pouring it down.

Nick's POV:

I immediately notice my car is the only one in the parking lot. I look around some more and come to the conclusion Karl just doesn't have a car. Which is normal of course, loads of people don't have cars.

I turn to look at him, and I know exactly what i'm going to say next.
"Do you want a ride home?"

Karl's POV:

When he asks me if i want a ride, i'm stuck. What am i supposed to say? I don't want to reject him but fuck, where would he even drop me off?

"Come on Karl, I'd feel terrible if I left you out in the rain." and for that reason alone, i nodded in response and followed the boy out to his car.

He opens the passenger side door and holds it open for me as I climb in.
'What a gentlemen.' I think to myself as I feel my cheeks go red.

Sapnap walks round the car and opens his door. He climbs in and shuts the door. I put my seatbelt on and he does the same.
"So where am I dropping you off?" The boy asks, turning his body to face me.

My body turns itself to face him as I think of somewhere he could drop me off. What am I supposed to say?

"Uhh... just at the library.." I say, awkwardly avoiding eye contact.
"The library? What about your house?" Sapnap asked. He turned the keys into the car and turned the headlights on.
"Uhh.. I just need to head to the library first.." I say, trying to sound convincing.
"I see. I don't suppose you want to come to my house after though?" he asked, completely out of the blue.
"Huh? I.. uhh.." I say, shyly.
"Just for a little bit. So we can get to know each other more! You interest me." He says, trying to persuade me.

'You interest me.' Oh my. Why did he have to say that? I can tell I'm blushing. Oh my gosh this is embarrassing.

"I-uhh-.." I can't reply. The words aren't exiting my mouth. I'm so flustered. What is going on with me? Sapnap only meant it in a friend way, obviously. And why do I even want it to be in another way? I barely know him!

"Come on! It'll be fun." he speaks, again and I finally give in.
"Okay. Fine. I'll just go to the library after.." I say, fidgeting with my fingers.
