"You have a lovely home." I finish.
"Thank you! Would you like a tour?" He asks me, removing his hand from my face and sliding it into his pockets.
"That'd be cool." I say as a big smile creeps along my face.

After the tour, him and I sit down in the living room and he starts to tell me about his family and what his parents do for a living. He tells me that his mother is a lawyer and his father works in a factory down south.

It's interesting to hear about his family, don't get me wrong. But it makes me wonder about my family. I didn't get to know my mother much, she died when I was only 7 years old. She was suffering from cancer stage 3, and lost the battle when she was only 32 years old. My father was 35 when I last saw him. He was alive and healthy. And he was also extremely wealthy. He chucked me out of our house when I was 13 because he caught me sneaking out of my window at 4am. I was off to meet my girlfriend at the time, and he caught me.

I never had any siblings, or not that I know of. I was always an only child, which I found very lonely and boring at times since my parents were always working. After my mother died, my father was always cold to me after that. Her death wasn't my fault, yet I still feel guilty.

"Karl? You alright?" he asked me as he waved his hand gently in front of my face.
"S-Sorry.. I'm fine. Uh- just continue talking.." I mutter as I force my eyes to trail anywhere except Sapnap's beautiful face.

"No, I want to hear about your family. I'm done blabbering on about mine. What about you? Your parents? Any siblings?" He said, moving his face closer to mine as he spoke carefully.
"I.. uh.." Im not sure whether I should tell Sapnap about my parents. Then he'll ask me who I live with. But, I suppose I could just make up a lie? I could say I live with my auntie? Or maybe in foster care?

"Well.. my mother passed away when I was 7 years old. She was suffering from cancer for 1 year, but then she suddenly lost the battle. My father and I aren't close. We haven't spoken in years. He works in a factory down south. I never really think much about him though. He kicked me out of our house when I was 12 because I attempted to sneak out of the house without his permission." I suddenly stop myself from talking before something important slips out. Maybe the fact that I'm homeless?

Sapnap doesn't say anything after that. He gives me the most adorable puppy eyes I've ever seen as he pulls me into a close embrace. I feel my cheeks burn up as our faces touch either side.

Soon after, he pulls out of the embrace and our eyes meet. I can see his cheeks go a bright pink colour, and it makes a slight smile appear across my face, but I try my best to hide it.

"Uhm.." Sapnap says, dragging his eyes away from mine, hesitantly. "I'm sorry about your family. That must suck." he speaks with his voice laced with sadness.

"But. I do have a question. If you don't talk to any of your parents.. where do you live?" The other male asks me and I can feel my heart sink in my chest. What am I supposed to say?

"With.. with my grandmother." The words escape my mouth without me even realising. And as soon as I say it, I realise what I've just said. A complete lie.

"Oh! I see. Is she nice?" He begins to ask me multiple questions about my grandmother. I've never even met my grandmother. My mother would never let me because apparently she wasn't the kindest?

But of course, I can't tell him that because then he'll know that I don't live with her and then he'll know I lied. I don't want Sapnap to think of me as a liar. Something about him drew me in, and I didn't want to lose him. He means too much.

"Yeah. She's fine, I guess." I lied.
"What's her name?" I can tell he is trying to start conversation. He wants to get to know my grandmother more since she's part of my nonexistent family.

"Can we talk about something else?" I scratch the back of my neck, nervously.
"Oh. Sure." Sapnap says, confused, but nonetheless, he respects my wishes.
