Twenty Three

Olivia had never been as observant of Luca, his men and her surroundings as she was now. She had learned his routine, the names of the men closest to him and usually went out to work with him. She figured she would need more time to get to them and time was not a luxury she could afford and so she decided to focus on the men who usually stayed back to guard the house, the les important men if you will. 

She made her first move about two weeks after Luca killed that maid and the two had sworn devotion to each other, well Luca had sworn devotion to her, Olivia word's had been as empty as her soul at that point, without a meaning to them but Luca was too consumed by his obsession for her to notice. 

"Good morning bella." Luca spoke, walking into the kitchen where Olivia had been sitting idly stirring the cup of tea in her hands, she tried not to flinch or push him away when he wrapped his arms around her stomach, resting it on her growing bump. She played her role as a devoted partner, closing her eyes and refusing the urge to fight as he kissed her cheek and neck. She reminded herself that she needed to play along for her plan to work, she needed to endure this for her sake, Alexia's sake and the sake of her unborn child. 

"I'm going to be in the office for a bit then I'll take you for your appointment." Luca announced his plans for the day while grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl. 

"I have an appointment today?" Olivia questioned softly and Luca nodded with a grin. 

"Si piccola, and I have a surprise for you later." Olivia wondered what this surprise would because the last one hadn't been all too pleasant.

"Oh," Is all she said before eventually asking, " How long will you be in the office?" 

"About an hour or two, why?" He asked, staring at her with slightly narrowed eyes as this is the most she's said to him since she had been brought here.

"I-I just can't wait to see my-our baby and if it's doing ok, that's all." Luca nodded, satisfied with her answer, planting a kiss on her lips before leaving the kitchen with her entourage, Lorenzo lingered for a bit, watching Olivia as if warning her with his eyes before following his boss and friend. As soon as they were gone, Olivia got off her chair, waiting for the familiar click of Luca closing the door to his study before walking towards the living room. She purposely took the route through the foyer because that's where she knew he would be standing. 

He, Eric Esposito, he was Olivia's first target. He was just a simple guard, a house guard, not important enough to be in Luca's inner circle or accompany him to special mission, or massacres which is what they really were, but he was important to Olivia because he was there. He was there when Aaliyah was killed, he was there when Elias was shot, hell he was the one that dragged her on to the plane, laughing and whispering about how pathetic Elias was while tying her down. He had watched while Luca hurt her, guarded the door preventing her from escaping, telling her to just take it like a big girl. She had seen him emerge from the basement with bruised knuckles and it didn't take genius to realize he was the one or part of the men hurting Alexia. He may have been just a guard, and he may have played a minor role in the series of miserable events that have taken place but it was a role nonetheless and that was enough for Olivia. 

She walked through the foyer, purposefully walking past him, pretending to smile shyly when he sent her wink before entering the living room. Once she was out of his sight, she rolled her eyes, his lewd behaviour would be his undoing, not that she cared. She then intentionally put the tv on to a channel showing some dating show that she knew Eric and the other guards always watched when Luca wasn't around and just like she had expected, the man waltzed into the living room at the sound of the show's intro song, he made it seem as if he was casually checking the room for security but Olivia knew that wasn't the case and that's exactly what she wanted.
