Building trustMono and Six's journey may be over but the city remained in its state of decay and ruin. With Mono having given up with hiding his identity, Six would grow cautious around him as he looked threatening with those pupil-less eyes.
He always carried a weapon with him as he held onto Six's hand as he'd guide her like he's always done.
Through the city they escaped, not ending up back at the beach they had rode their raft on but instead found themselves to be walking along an open field with grassy hills and living trees.
This may have been something wonderful to see but it still remained as dark like the city. Dark grass, no visible flowers, and the trees slowly kept losing its leaves, most turning brown as they're dead leaves.
Only problem with this view was it was all they could see, meaning they'd have to traverse through. It looked similar to what the forest the hunter lived in.
Six wasn't having much of a good feeling about this and neither was Mono. There's no telling for what creatures might dwell inside the forest but Mono didn't see any other option.
Mono: Come on.
Mono continued to pull Six's hand but she stayed in place before the forest. She might've been frightened, but ever since her stomach began to growl she hasn't been herself like Mono knew she was.
Mono looked back at her with his dark colored eyes, but to Six's notice even having eyes that look intimidating there was compassion and caring in them.
Mono: Just stick close to me. I'll keep you safe.
He smiled at her, making Six feel more at ease with the way forward, wrapping her fingers around his hand, having him know confirmation to keep going.
*Timeskip*
They wandered the forest for a while. not seeing anyone or anything in sight, except for the crackling of dried leaves and the sky rays piercing through the trees as they gave off beams of light in the dark.
There kept going no matter what they saw or heard as Six could've swore she heard a twig snap from time to time that didn't come from them. She feared there was another beast or deformed person watching them.
They reached a steep part of the forest that they would have to keep their balance as they'd go over. Right before Mono laid a foot upon it, a couple of small rocks could be heard that were knocked over from the top, as well as the slight glimpse of someone hiding behind a tree.
