Chapter 1

Beginning

Amaia Imogen's Point of View

"Maia, hindi ka na ba sasama sa amin?" bungad sa akin ni Jade, kaibigan kong kasamahan ko rin sa trabaho. I pushed myself using both of my feet to clearly see them, dahil may nakaharang pang division sa aking cubicle.

Bumungad sa akin ang nakapa-maywang na Jade habang nakasukbit na ang kaniyang bag sa kaniyang balikat. Tahimik lamang nakatayo si Nica sa likuran nito, naghihintay rin sa aking sagot.

"Sasama ako," sagot ko at humawak sa dulo ng aking desk. I pulled myself nearer to my desk to shut my computer down.

Habang hinihintay na mag-shut down ang computer ay inayos ko na ang aking nga gamit para maisilid sa aking bag. "Dadaan pa ba tayo sa condo mo?" tanong ulit ni Jade.

"I don't know. You decide. If you want to change your clothes then go ahead," maiksi kong sagot habang hindi pa rin sila nililingon.

Narinig ko pa ang bulungan nilang dalawa, pinag-uusapan kung gusto pa bang magpalit ng kanilang damit. We usually go to my condo first before going to the bar. Para hindi rin mukhang haggard na galing sa trabaho kapag may nakita kaming gusto naming lalaki. Well, except for Jade. She's off limits. Unfortunately, taken by an asshole of a man.

Honestly, I can't even count with the fingers I have in my hands on how many times she's been played. 'Di ko alam kung paano pa siya nagtitiwala sa mga lalaki.

We went straight to my condo after finishing work. They have some clothes left behind in my condo, that's why we usually change here. Condo ko rin kasi ang pinakamalapit sa trabaho.

This setup of ours has been done for a year already. We often hang out together when our works are over. Usually, we go to bars and clubs, but sometimes we just peacefully eat out if we want to destress.

"Maia, pahiram naman ako ng pangtaas. Wala na pala akong naiwan na pangtaas dito sa condo mo," paalam ni Jade sa akin habang naghahalungkat ng damit na magagamit sa aking aparador. "Pahiram ako nito, ah?" sabi nito at ipinakita sa akin ang isang kulay black na pangtaas.

Tumango ako at bumalik sa paglalagay ng mascara sa mata. My upturned eyes looked more defined because of the mascara.

I wore a simple black fitted silk dress. I paired it with a pair of earrings and a bracelet. Kinuha ko ang aking black heels at isinuot iyon.

I recently changed my brown long hair into a middle length a-line cut with thin bangs and colored it dark copper orange. The color looks natural on me, especially that I didn't choose a deep orange, almpst close to brown. I took out a deep red lipstick from my vanity table and applied it on my lips.

I made sure to not overline my lips with the deep red lipstick to keep it's original heart-shaped full lips.

When I was already satisfied on my look, I looked around the room and saw that Nica was already wearing a black laced crop top with tight jeans. 

She didn't even bother fixing her short black hair. Her look was very simple. She just applied some mascara and eyeliner that made her chinita eyes look more fierce. She decided to just use a pinkish tint on her lips and keep her eyeglasses.

"Nica, why don't you try using contact lenses? I think it would suit you," I said to her.

She raised her head that was looking on her phone, reading a book online. She was already sitting on the couch, waiting for us to finish. "Graded contact lenses are expensive. I can't afford it," she simply replied.

"It's really not that expensive if you don't buy the expensive ones," sagot ko.

"Yeah. If you buy it from online. But if it's from authentic ones, it's kind of expensive. Plus, I still have my glasses. I can just put the money I'll use for contact lenses to other good use, like my siblings' notebook or something," mahina pa niyang sagot.
