POV: Blake
While Dawn, Nathen, and Ren Su were trying to come up with a plan including me, but independently, like usual. Cypress was North-West so we could go west then take a right at the cliffs, but the only problem with that is, is it leaves us open for a flank from the south then we’d be cornered by the cliffs. We should also stick together. “We need to go west then take a right at the cliffs!”
“That seems risky but it will have to do,” Dawn replied
“Alright, we’re heading west, follow us!” Nathen shouted.
We began to run through the forest about five minutes of running we came to another opening in the forest but this time there was a very large cavern with only a small bridge to cross.
“Great, this is just perfect,” Dawn complained.
Just as Dawn stopped a young man approached us.
“You get the Newbies across and we can hold of these men.”
“Alright, Thanks,” I replied.
“Alright, we need to cover the new ones let’s take a formation and let’s not fail!” he commanded. “Any Newbies follow the Shadow team!”
We all started towards the bridge as more solders came out of the forest on the other side. But only five came out, “Curious,” I said very quietly.
“You stay here, we’ll take care of them,” Nathen said.
We ran up to the bridge as a large sound boomed from the other side. Then all of the sudden a missile came from behind the tree line and smashed into the bridge. The bridge crumbled and gave away.
“Dam” Dawn said.
I put my hand on my waist and felt my grappling hook and looked in the cavern, there was a beam of some sort that looked as if it could hold my wait. I then dived of the cliff. I could hear Dawn shout in frustration. I flipped so my back was downwards and shot the Grappling hook. It slammed into the beam and I swung forwards and up. I came up over the other side and landed on my feet and one hand, the other grabbing my blade.
I looked towards the men flashed towards the nearest one. I quickly pulled out my blade and knocked his defenses away, then slit his throat I spun around blocked an incoming attack. I was just about to kill him when a striking pain erupted on the back of my leg and I fell to my knee, I looked to see what happened, but Dawn was there and had just killed a man. I got back up. Three remaining with Dawn and I. I looked and nodded to Dawn. She got in a fighting stance, and two men attacked her and one me. He knocked my blade away, in return I kicked him in the back of the leg and he fell to a knee. I dis-armed him and stabbed him in the chest with his own blade; I dropped him with the blade still in him.
I looked to Dawn who had killed one. She was already dis-armed and was fighting hand to hand. He threw a punch, which she blocked, and elbowed him in the neck. He stumbled and she grabbed her sword and killed him.
“Nicely done,” I said.
“Thanks, you too,” she responded.
Two more men came from behind the tree line, one holing a rocket launcher, and the other a shotgun. The one with the rocket launcher aimed at me and was about to pull the trigger when two loud snapping sounds came from the other side of the cliffs. The two men collapsed dead. I looked to the other side of the cliffs and saw one of the students had a sniper rifle.
“We should probably go now before more show up.” Dawn said
“Agreed.” I said, “Wait how did you get over here?”
Dawn turned to me and said, “We all have to have some secrets, don’t we?” she then turned back around, “Otherwise there would be no reason to trust now would there?”
