There's something in psychology called the 'Fundamental Attribution Error'. It sounds complicated, doesn't it? Well, it isn't. The fundamental attribution error is when people underestimate the effect of circumstances.
Have you ever been driving and seen another driver do something stupid? Did you immediately think 'ugh, they're such a bad driver.' Well, perhaps they had kids in the back seat. Maybe they had something on their mind and they drifted off. Maybe they hadn't slept all day.
Have you ever noticed a classmate who was often missing from school? Did you ever think 'they must be such a bad student if they're missing so many day.' Perhaps one of their parents is sick and they must take care of them.
Everyone has been victim to the fundamental attribution error. This is a story of the people on the other side of the error. The people who can't seem to escape the bad rumours spread about them all because of the underestimate of circumstances.
