You didn't know how to describe it but the rest of the day had been... uneasy. Unlike the past week, you hadn't felt anything. Not even a whisper. Ever since your confrontation with Steve, you'd felt the slight tickle of your power every minute. It hadn't been the first time, of course, it had been something you'd grown used to living with ever since Phil had taken you. Although you had learnt to ignore your power, it would sometimes trickle to the surface begging to be let out whenever you'd get into a fight with Phil or would be under stress in general.

You'd eventually get over it though and things would grow easier but it had never just disappeared like this. You felt empty as if the sun that once called from within you to be let out wasn't there anymore. You'd gotten used to forgetting about it at times but it had never truly been like this. This was nothing. A part of you felt relieved but you knew whatever this was couldn't be any good.

"You still haven't packed your bag?" Steve asked, his voice louder than usual, as he walked into the room. You had been standing by the window, trying to clear your mind, and you looked at the clock at how much time had passed. "God, I told you to let someone else do it." He said.

"Unlike you, I'm not used to ordering people around like servants." You snapped, half-wishing that being angry would bring it back.

"Well, at least do it yourself then. I seriously- Lios?" Steve stopped at once when you turned around to look at him. He was right in front of you within a second, making you flinch at how fast he was. "What happened? You okay?" He asked, taking out his handkerchief and putting it under your nose. You saw blood on it when you pushed his hand away. "Should I call a doctor?" He asked, gently leading you to a chair.

"I'm fine," You said, pushing his hand away. "Who the fuck is that?" You asked Steve as you sat back on the chair, suddenly feeling exhausted.

"What?" Steve looked behind him and then back at you, "There's nobody there, Lios," He said. You held your head as a sudden piercing headache shot up and fell from the chair. Steve was immediately on his knees and got you up in his arms.

"Hang on," He said through clenched teeth as your nails dug into his arms. "Just hang on," He managed as he skipped the elevator and ran for the stairs. Your vision was black but you could feel the bumps as Steve was jumping up the stairs. "Stay with me," He said and that was the last thing you heard before you passed out.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" you opened your eyes to absolute darkness as a hand brushed past yours.

"Steve?" You said out loud even though you knew the voice wasn't Steve's. You couldn't associate anybody with that voice. It was deep and though it rung low in your ears, the sound of the voice itself was uncannily loud.

"The dark," The voice said as you felt the touch rise up from your hand to your arms. "It's magnificent, isn't it?"

"Who are you?" You asked and though you tried your best, you couldn't move a muscle.

"The real question here would be, who are you?" He spoke, his lips almost touching your ear as you felt his breath on you. "You're special but you run away from yourself."

"Stop," You said as the touch ran up your body and cupped your cheek.

"Let the light fly," He whispered. "Let the world see."

"S-Stop," You cried out as you felt your power rise up. You felt the demanding scratch of the sun inside you, stronger than you have ever felt. You tried to numb it, tried to fight against it but it didn't budge. You felt your vision returning to you slightly. "No!"

"Let the dark have it,"  He said and the sun roared. It shone through you and it ran free. It ran wild. You cried out as you tried to stop it but it wouldn't listen. That was when you realized that it wasn't listening to you at all. It was answering to him.

"Yes," You heard his voice as the world around you was flooded with bright white light. "You and I are going to change the world."
