"Lios, your phone's ringing," Steve groaned as he woke you. You got up instantly when you heard the ringtone. You sighed and got up, wincing as your body ached. You realized your phone was on the table on the other side of the room and walked over to it. The phone had stopped ringing by the time you got to it and saw that it was half-past seven. The room was dark since the curtains had been drawn. There were two missed calls from Phil.

"Everything okay?" Steve asked, still half-asleep as he just rolled over to the other side.

"Yeah, it's just Phil." You said and walked over to your closet. It was only when you had realized that you had slept naked that you started to remember all that had happened last night. You put on a pair of briefs and a robe from the closet before going to the living room. You called Phil back.

"Heyo," Phil said. You could hear traffic in the background and he seemed tired. "Where you at?"

"Oh, I just came to-" You sat up for real and were glad when Phil interrupted you mid-sentence. This was one of the only times you were glad that he was a morning person because you didn't have to explain where you were and honestly, you weren't sure if you wanted to tell Phil that you had gone on a 'vacation' of all things with Steve. Usually, you'd be cursing at him for waking you up early on a Sunday just to go for a walk or listen to some radio drama he liked.

"Well, rise and shine. I'm going to be there in a couple of hours." Phil said with a small laugh. You could hear someone talking in the background and figured he had had the radio on.

"Where?" You stood up with a start, now completely awake.

"The tower. I'm on my way to the headquarters now and I'll come straight to you after." He said. "Oh, don't have breakfast. I'll take you out to that waffle place you like."

"Oh," You couldn't help but smile, even though you were near to shitting yourself. Phil would be at the tower in a couple of hours. You had missed him all the while since the day you'd come to the tower but now, it meant something entirely different. You were reminded of your deal with Steve that you'd only marry after Phil had come back. "Listen," You said quickly. "Don't come to the tower," You said. "I'll meet you at the waffle place."

There was a pause before Phil responded and you could tell that he had lowered the volume of his radio, "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, just that Steve's a little too excited to meet you and I'd rather let you rest a couple of days." You said.

"Oh, well, I don't really mind it. I mean, I've met the guy before and I don't think it'd be too awkward or s-"

"Dad, just, not today. Okay?" You said in a calmer voice.

"Alright, up to you." He replied quickly. "I'll text you when I leave HQ," He said.

"Yeah, okay. Bye, drive save." You said and he returned his goodbyes before hanging up. You took a moment to breathe and sat back down on the couch. You could see the beach through the french doors of the living room and boy how you knew you were going to miss this place. Steve or not, this place was beautiful and you wondered if you could ask Steve to come back here someday.

You got up finally and went straight to the master bedroom. You could see Steve's naked body half-covered by the sheets. You cringed slightly as memories from last night came back everytime you thought about it. You pushed back your thoughts and walked over to the bed, gently shaking Steve.

"Steve, get up." You said. "Steve," You said louder and shook him a little more. "Get up, we have to go back."

Steve woke up suddenly at that. He opened his eyes and looked up at you, "What?"

"We have to go back right now. One of my friends called, there's an emergency," You said. Though you were worried about lying to Steve outright knowing how well he was at catching them, you tried your best to not think too much about it and act as naturally as you could.

He sat up immediately worriedly. He put his hand over yours, "What happened?"

"One of my friends from uni called. She's had some personal issues and I think she's having a nervous breakdown. I have to be there, please. I'm so sorry, I know we were supposed to-" Steve was on his feet at once and held up his hand.

"No no, it's totally fine. I'll call the jet, you go get ready." He said and you almost felt bad for lying to him, seeing him trust you so blindly. You shoved your thoughts and went to the bathroom to get a quick shower before changing into more comfortabe clothes for the flight. When you got back, Steve had already packed the bags and had gotten ready. "We'll have to go to the public airport but the jet will be there," He said. "We'll get something to eat there, come on." He said and just like that, you were out of the villa and in the car to the airport. "Here, put on a cap to hide your hair and put on some glasses." He said as he handed you the items so you wouldn't get recognized. He did the same as you neared the airport.

Once there, everything went smoothly but there was a waiting time which troubled you. It was better that you weren't meeting Phil at the tower. That way, you could just say that you had gone back to sleep and got late in case you weren't able to reach there in time. "Wait here," Steve said and walked over to a counter to talk aout something.

You were feeling jittery so you got up from your seat and walked over to the large window that overlooked the airport grounds. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" A deep voice reverberated in your ears. A shiver went down your back but you shook it off as you looked to your right. You saw a guy a bit taller than you, around Steve's height though he had a much thinner body.

"In a way, I guess," You said and the guy smiled at you. You couldn't help but take a step back casually. His eyes were a little too black and had you could hardly see the white in his eyes. You felt weird for staring at him so blatantly and had just turned back to the window when he held out his hand towards you.

"Aleksander," He said with a warm smile on his face, though something about the way he posed himself seemed much colder and stiff than his face seemed to say.

You had only reached out and held his hand when you felt a sudden rise of your power. You were about to yell for Steve but the surge died down before it could even come to the surface just as you had pulled your hand back. You looked down at your hand and took a couple of steps back before looking up at the man in front of you. He was still smiling as he looked down at you. "Y-You were in my-"

"Oh, it was no dream, Lios." He said and took a step towards you. You backed up further. "You must give me time and I will explain things better. For now, be careful." He said and turned to looked to his right where Steve had gone. You followed his gaze and saw that Steve was returning with a couple of packets in his hand. "He's not as innocent as he pretends. Don't trust him." He said and when you'd turned back into his direction, it was as if there was nobody there at all.
