12 - Bella the Ballerina

Valia's POV

We placed our bags in the car and got on the road as quickly as possible. In less than a second Edward jumped into the side of the door and said something to Bella who scooted over letting him drive the orange truck. I could see their lips moving and tears streaming down my sisters face but I could hear a sound. My body was sore and my mind numb, a combination that almost put me to sleep but I don't as I felt the Jasper's waves.

They weren't the usual calming feeling but rather like a muffled ardor of anxiety, I guessed he was producing them unconsciously but they were weirdly reassuring in a way. He was close, so close I could almost feel the soothing coldness of his skin of mine. He is here, he will be there.

We came to a stop next to the Cullen mansion and Jasper quickly got out of the other car to hold my hand just like Edward was doing to my sister. Edward opened the door and Laurent came to our view, Jasper placed me behind him and Edward immeadiatly started hissing.

"Why are you here?" asked Jasper.

"Wait" said Carlisle "He came to warn us about James"

"This isn't my fight, and I've grown tired of his games, but he's got unparalleled senses, absolutely lethal. I've never seen anything like him in my 300 years. And the woman, Victoria, don't underestimate her" said Laurent and as soon as the sentence was said he got out leaving us to deal with the mess. We went to the garage where the rest of the Cullen were we were getting ready to leave.

"I've had to fight our kind before. We're not easy to kill" said Jasper.

"But not impossible" said Emmett. "We'll tear them apart and burn the pieces"

"I don't relish the thought of killing another creature, even a sadistic one like James" said Carlisle.

"What if he kills one of us first?" asked Rosalie. 

"I'm gonna run Bella south. Can you lead the tracker away from here?" asked Edward. 

"No, Edward. James knows you would never leave Bella . He'll follow you and he will follow Jasper as he won't leave Valia either" said Carlisle. 

"I'll go with them, I will drive them south. You guys don't have to worry" said Alice. Jasper face showed clear doubt but he looked into his sister's eyes and nodded.

"Can you keep your thoughts to yourself?" said Edward coldly. 

"Yes" said Alice. She took us both and placed us into the backseats of her car while she sat in front to drive us. Rosalie made a fuss about having to protect us but luckly Carlisle supported us so she accepted the plan. As soon as we buckled up Bella left our mother a voicemail and I twisted my head one more time to see Jasper looking directly at me. I wished I hadn't turned around. He was so broken you could see it despite his stoic expresion and Edward was clearly not doing any better his eyes being as black as night. Alice drove off, and I caressed my sister until we went to sleep from pure exhaustion. At some point of the following day we arrived in Phoenix and went into our hotel room. We were trying to be calmed about the situation the three of us engaging in a seminormal conversation about how horrible highschool was. Alice suddenly gasped, she saw something. 

"What is it? What do you see?" I asked. 

"The tracker, he just changed course" said Alice. 

"Where will it take him, Alice?" I asked her.

"Mirrors" she said and Bella lended her a pencil and some paper of the table. "A room full of mirrors" she said while scrubbling down an arched room.

"Edward said the visions weren't always certain" said Bella.
