(TW: Sexual Assault)

Spencer and Emily hadn't been outside for much longer before they went back in. Spencer, now distraught and teary-eyed from the preceding breakdown took a bit more time than Emily did. She sat with the man for a little while before deciding to retreat back into the police station to put effort towards investigating the new tip.

Not only that- but she figured Spence would need the alone time anyways.

That fact was true in itself. Spencer had not had a single tranquil moment to himself since all this went down. Ever since Giselle went missing, he had been with the team every single second of every single day. He hadn't even slept.

Sure, the other members of the BAU pushed him to sleep every now and then, but Spencer just... couldn't. There was something about this that pained him more than any other case. Not just because it was Giselle either. Of course that was a large majority of his anxiety relating to this case- but there was something else there that he hadn't even thought to address until that moment.

He could've stopped all of this.

But now Giselle is going through this all over again- because he didn't see what was happening soon enough.

The police officers taking her away... he should've known. Dammit, he was better than that.

And now she will go the rest of her life blaming Spencer for his mistake.

And quite honestly, he couldn't blame her.

As he put his head of shaggy hair into his jittery, large hands, Spencer let out a long overdue sigh. He had barely even allowed himself to breathe over these past few days- let alone sit and think like he was doing now.

God, he just wanted Giselle to be okay.

It was weird not having her around. He had been with her almost every single day for the past year, and now... she wasn't there. She was being held somewhere and being tortured because of a dumb mistake that he should have been able to prevent. He would never be able to tell her the things he always meant to say.

He would never be able to say-

"Spencer!"

Spencer's tired face shot up from his resting position as his lanky body whipped around to seek out the voice that had just called his name. Low and behold, Emily was back- standing right in front of him pensively.

"They've got something."

Immediately, Spencer stood up and raced over to the woman.

"What? What is it?"

His voice was fast paced and anxious- obviously eager for the suspense to come to a halt.

"We found a bunch of stuff on Reagan earlier- that's what Derek came out with. But we were waiting on one important thing- a connection."

Spencer charged to the front door of the PD and Emily trailed closely behind as he plowed through the lobby and to the conference room, where the rest of the team was gathered. Immediately upon entry, Spencer was met with strange, cautious glances from the rest of the team. To this, he simply sighed and made his way to the desk- gesturing to the phone, which was still on.

"Garcia. You there?"

Spencer asked.

"Yep. You ready to hear all this?"

Spencer took a deep, shaky breath and nodded with slight hesitance.

This was when he got all the answers. This is where he would get his last chance- his last chance to make things right. He needed to pay close attention to every single word that came from Penelope's mouth- because even the smallest bit of information could save Giselle's life.
