It was the next morning, and Giselle had went on the rest of the night sleeping. After the food came, Giselle ate and then Hotch dismissed her to her room. Spencer had filled him in on what was going on, and Hotch agreed that some down time would be beneficial to Giselle- especially considering how close she was to this case.

It felt like every single day, the team knew something knew about Giselle- and she didn't like it. She preferred to keep her private life just that- private. But something about this team was different than her last. She didn't want to keep things so locked away anymore- at least not to Spencer. She could trust him, and that's why she let him speak to Hotch.

After a long awaited good nights rest, Giselle woke up bright and early and headed down to the hotel lobby to meet with the rest of the team. The food made her feel much better- her coldness was gone and she felt much more energized. This came as a relief to Spencer, who nearly yelped with joy when he saw a healthy Giselle standing in the lobby with a bagel and a cup of coffee.

He walked over to her and inched his mouth close to her right ear, as to not let the other team members in on their conversation.

"You feeling okay? You look much better."

Giselle turned to look at him and gave the hint of a smile before nodding.

"Yeah. I feel a lot better."

She looked down to the coffee in her right hand and then looked right back up at Spencer.

"Thank you again for last night. I really don't know how I can repay you..."

Spencer made a "psshh" sound and shrugged. At this moment, Giselle realized that the other team members were watching them intently- which made her suddenly aware that she was standing only a few centimeters away from Spencer's chest.

"It's really not a big deal. I care about you... and... you know..."

Spencer couldn't finish his sentence. Hotch stepped forward and interrupted their conversation before they could go on.

"We found another body."

Giselle's heart sank down into her chest.

"Oh my god..."

The first thing her mind went to was Stephanie.

"Is-"

"It's not Stephanie."

Derek said, stepping forward.

"It's one of the unsubs."

Woah.

Giselle was slightly relieved to figure out that Stephanie was still alive, but a body was still a body.

"Name's Scott Kagan. He was a sophomore at Ernstrom College."

Emily said, stepping forward into the circle they had created.

"We profiled last night that these unsubs might be college students- considering their strange hunting schedule and the possibility of them being out of state,"

She continued, putting her hands in her pockets.

"They're thinning the pack,"

JJ said with disappointment lacing her voice.

"It's only a matter of time before the lieutenant realizes he's expendable as well."

Hotch looked around to the team with a commanding glance.

"Stephanie may have gained another day, but that's not going to last. We need to get to work."

And with that, the team grabbed their bags and headed out to the SUV parked out in front of the hotel. Like Hotch said, it was time to get to work. And with a clear head and a fresh sense of why she was here, Giselle was ready to catch these bastards once and for all.
