Chapter 18 : Meta Knight - Return to Popstar

Everything was coming back to normal, and Meta Knight was glad. Meta Knight still couldn't believe it... Kirby actually agreed to be his boyfriend. Boyfriend. His dream has come true.

Meta Knight was able to stop Dedede from posting the picture on social media. They went back to the tents, and Meta Knight got his spare mask. All of his friends were disappointed when he came out of his tent with his mask on.

After that, all 4 friends went to check on Kirby's spaceship, and it was almost done. The machine fixer was a great person.

'So you're the Kirby King Dedede and Bandana Dee were talking about? I heard you're the hero of the next-door planet, Popstar.' He said to Kirby.

Kirby nodded. 'Thank you for fixing my spaceship, sir! I'm excited to go on it soon,'

'I'm excited to see you go on it too! Ah, and you must be Sir Meta Knight!'

Meta Knight and the mechanic shook hands.

'Pleased to meet you, sir. Thank you for repairing Kirby's spaceship.' Meta Knight said.

'No problem. I always wanted to meet you two! I heard you two are two of the strongest star warriors!'

Kirby and Meta Knight exchanged looks. They were that famous?

'Um... Yes. We are called that, but we don't know ourselves.' Kirby admitted.

'Oh, my son will be so jealous when he hears I met Kirby and Meta Knight, the two famous star warriors!'

'Okay...' King Dedede grunted. 'How long is it going to take until the spaceship is mended completely?'

'It will be ready by tomorrow, King. I just have to do last checks on the engines and the controls if they work properly.'

'Okay. Thanks a lot, Landorf.' King Dedede paid the machine fixer.

'Come back again tomorrow!' The mechanic waved at the foursome as they walked away.

When they went back to the tents, Meta Knight could barely just say good night to Kirby and take his armor off before he passed out in his sleeping bag. He thankfully didn't have any dreams.

When he woke up, he felt as good as new, and dressed up and got out of his tent at about 6 o'clock in the morning. Since nobody was still awake, he kept reading the book he read with Kirby a few days before by a rock.

Planet Earth had other animals except for humans, but humans were mostly the only species that had actual words. They used a lot of languages. But humans are polluting their planet, making Earth more mechanized, less natural. People are starting to make protests to save the planet, but no one knows if they could actually make it. Most do not have any powers. But some may...

He kept on reading until...

'Hey, Meta!' Meta Knight heard Kirby call.

He looked up and saw Kirby, Dedede, and Bandana Dee sitting on a picnic mat. Kirby ran over to Meta Knight.

'Let's eat breakfast!' Kirby said happily, and took Meta Knight's hand and pulled him to the mat.

Bread, jam, sausages, poached eggs, salad, bacon...

'Kirby and I cooked and got this all ready!' Bandana Dee said proudly.

Meta Knight was impressed. Though, he knew Kirby can turn into Cook Kirby and cook easily.

He held his hands together and then started eating. Kirby ate his breakfast in 3 seconds, inhaling all of his food at once.

'Kirby!' Meta Knight scolded. 'Eat more slowly, and taste the food more properly!'

'Hey, at least I didn't suck up you guys' food...' Kirby giggled. 'Can I have your bacon?'

'No. Get your own food yourself, not by taking food from others! Manners, Kirby.'

'Awww... Please, one bite?'

'No,'

'Please?'

'NO.'

'Damn, you guys are too cute.' Dedede laughed. 'Best couple. EVER.'

'Yeah, yeah,' Meta Knight grumbled. He was still touchy about being called a couple, even if they were. 'We should start packing up. We should go back to Dreamland today.'

'Sir Meta Knight's right. The Cappy Towners might be worried!' Bandana Dee nodded.

'But all the food...' Kirby whimpered sadly, looking at Dedede's full plate.

'Fine,' Dedede inhaled all his food as well.

'King!' Meta Knight yelled, shocked. Bandana Dee laughed.

Even if he was half-mad, Meta Knight was actually smiling under his mask. This was what he called peacefully. He felt like he hadn't felt this peaceful for a long time, even if it was only about 2 weeks. But he knew this was happiness.

Meta Knight rolled up the picnic mat after breakfast and gave it to Bandana Dee, who owned it. He also packed his bag, his tent, whatever was his. His friends did the same. When they were ready, they put it into their spaceship and Meta Knight checked on his starship(A.k.a. Star Warrior spaceship) and saw that it was gladly ready as well.

They went to the machine fixer, who was waiting by the now repaired star warrior spaceship. When they saw the four friends, his face lightened.

'It's all fixed now, Kirby. It's working properly, and all the parts are back to the right place!' The mechanic said happily.

'Thank you, Sir Landorf!' Kirby grinned.

He jumped in and checked the engines and the controls, and it seemed to be working. Kirby smiled again, looking at the mechanic with pleasure.

'We have to be going soon, Landorf,' Dedede sadly said as he paid the mechanic again.

'Oh, so soon?' The machine fixer looked surprised.

'Yes, the townspeople might be worried. We're out of Popstar for more than 2 weeks!' Meta Knight explained.

'Okay. Please stay safe, friends. I hope we can meet again...'

The mechanic shook hands with all of them except for Kirby, who gave him a hug. Meta Knight couldn't help feeling a little jealous.

Kirby jumped on the starship and drove on its car style, with the other 3 at tow.

'Goodbye!' They waved to the mechanic, and he waved back.

The foursome came to where the other spaceships were. Meta Knight gave Kirby a walkie-talkie just in case, and jumped into his starship, and checked his controls again. He knew he was ready, though.

'Ready?' Dedede told them from the walkie-talkie.

'It's time.' Meta Knight agreed.

He pressed the control buttons and then launched off to space, with Kirby's starship and Dedede and Bandana Dee's spaceship at his side. In the distance, Planet Popstar was twinkling under the starlight.

In their spaceships, Kirby and Meta Knight locked eyes and smiled.

'Look, it's our home, guys.' Kirby murmured from the walkie-talkie.

'Yes,' Meta Knight grinned, and he knew he would grin even more when they went home. 'It's time we return to Popstar.'
