I smiled genuinely as I nodded, giving him permission to court me starting today."Totoo? As in, nagpapaligaw ka? Sa akin?" 'Di makapaniwalang tanong n'ya.
I grinned, walking back to the railings. I left him there to go back and consume the view of the beach. I inhaled the air and waited for him to stand beside me.
I heard him chuckle and felt him beside me.
"So... You do relationships now?" He teased and nudged me while looking at the view too.
I glanced at him a while before rolling my eyes in response.
I can sleep peacefully tonight. The universe is patient with me these past few days, I just hope it won't take away my serenity that suddenly.
But I also wish it wouldn't last long... the calmness, the tranquility. I'm afraid I'll get used to it.
"Gusto mo na magpahinga?"
My mind was too clouded with thoughts, that I gasped when he spoke. I looked at him and smiled, a sign that I already wanted to rest.
"Good night," I initiated when we were near my room's door.
He looked at me meaningfully before responding to my goodnight with a smile.
"Sleep well," he said and turned around towards the elevator. He said he'll be going back to take care of his friends. Don, most especially.
I was about to go inside the room with a smile on my face when he said something again, making me turn around just to see him back to where he was earlier.
"You smoked didn't you?" He said with his eyebrows shot up, trying to look disappointed. Hindi naman bagay sa kanya.
I tried to stifle a smile while looking up at the ceiling, avoiding eye contact. "I may have smoked a stick," I guiltly said while smiling.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk," he looked at me knowingly before shaking his head.
"And you're the pure man who also smokes but didn't bother telling me. Ew, such a turn off," I joked and rolled my eyes while I turned around to open the room door with my key card.
I was about to close the room door when he stopped it from closing with his hands again. "Thank you," he said while smiling and walked away, with his hands on his beach short pockets.
I smiled and watched him leave before fully closing the door. I saw Sasha sleeping already so I quietly let myself drop on the floor by sliding my back on the room door. I was holding on to my chest, I'm having trouble breathing because of all this... happiness?
The feeling was so foreign I didn't even know what I should call it.
I stood up and cleaned myself before plopping myself to bed. We'll be staying here for two more days so we have plenty of time. When I get back, I'll be attending trials after trials, and waiting for us back there is a new semester. God, I just want to stay here.
I heard my phone ring just as I was dozing off to sleep. I picked it up and was not even surprised to see who was calling.
"Just tell me you aren't drunk dialing right now," Panguna ko nang masagot ang tawag ni Asher.
I laughed when I heard the background noises, they were teasing Asher.
"Naka-speaker ka, tangina kasi ni Don." I laughed even more.
Dare 'to sigurado. Ayaw uminom, ah.
"Dapat ininom mo na lang, inaantok na 'ko," saad ko at kinusot ang mata ko.
