"Kumars, pakibilisan!"
8am ang sabing kitaan but it's now 9:30am. Ako, Asher, Sasha, at Vance. 'Yung iba?
I am wearing maong shorts and a white halter crop top. I kept it modest with a button-down, printed, light blue polo and a Birkenstock double-strapped white slip-on. I just brought one luggage and two bags for carry-on. The other bag is a bigger tote bag because it has my essentials while the other one is just a rattan shoulder bag for convenience.
'Yung birthday girl, kahapon pa nandoon, making sure everything is just perfect for her special day.
"Oo na, ito na oh. Sandali!"
"Kanina pa 'yang sandali mo! Ikaw ang pinakamalapit, ikaw pa ang wala!" Sigaw ko naman dahil naka-speaker s'ya. Mica only lives a few blocks away from me. Asher was outside of the car, contacting Don.
Hindi ko s'ya kinakausap for the past few days at kinukulit n'ya ako maliban kahapon.
I ended the call when I saw her approaching my car.
I rolled my eyes when they entered the car. "Lintes kayo, anong petsa na!" I disappointedly semi-shouted while I pulled my seatbelt in front of me.
Seated on the shotgun seat was Asher because Vance wanted to sit next to Mica at the back. Mabilis daw kasi s'yang mahilo, baka raw ma-distract n'ya ako. Don was sitting at Asher's side at the back too. Bale tatlo silang nagsisiksikan sa likod.
I left the parking lot and drove to where we were going. I already ate some earlier, pampalipas gutom lang but I haven't really eaten properly.
I sniffed an egg sandwich and it just made my mouth water. I gulped and focused on the road.
I tried to get my water bottle but it was closer to Asher. But of course, my stupid pride has to get in the way and I tried to still get it until it fell on his side from the center console where it was originally at.
I exhaled deeply before speaking, humiliated. "Could you please get that?" I pointed at the water bottle, my eyes still on the road.
He was still chewing when he put his sandwich down and got the water bottle. He still looked pissed but opened my water bottle for me instead.
I drank from it and handed it to him. Padabog n'yang sinarhan 'yon at kumain ulit. I gulped when I saw what he was eating. Gutom na gutom na ako.
"Mela, kumain ka na ba?" Vance asked from the back.
"Kanina lang, pero okay lang." Hindi. Hindi okay.
I shook my head and gripped on the steering wheel. Gutom na ako, anong okay lang?
"Pisting yawa, paabot noong sandwich d'yan!" I semi-yelled and pointed at the paperbags resting on Asher's thighs. I heard my friends at the back laugh except for Asher who scoffed while handed me my sandwich.
