"Baka mamaya may pamangkin na ako bigla, ah!" Kingsley said on the other line.
I was telling Kingsley about how Asher already told his parents and relatives about me and he was making a big fuss about it.
I mean, big deal naman talaga 'yon!
Jusko!
I signaled Kingsley to shut up because Asher might hear him on the other line since I wasn't wearing any headphones.
"Kausap mo si Kingsley?" Asher asked.
We planned it the other day, noong nagkita kami sa parke. We felt like we both needed a time out from our friends and how we're so involved within their issues.
"Oo, tawagan na lang kita maya," I answered Asher on the other line, standing up and walking away from where my laptop was placed dahil ang ingay talaga ni Kingsley.
Walang mabubuong pamangkin," he teased, hearing what Kingsley said earlier.
"Sari-sari kayong dalawa," I rolled my eyes even if he wasn't able to see it. "Sige na, maya na lang," I ended the call after saying that because he was still making jokes at hindi kami matatapos sa pag-uusap kapag pinatulan ko pa.
I walked back to the table where my laptop was placed and faced Kingsley na s'ya naman ang may kausap ngayon.
"Sino 'yan?" I asked when it was taking a few minutes already and he's speaking fluently in English.
"School admin," he answered, covering his phone's speaker. I nodded in response and waited for him to finish.
I brought the laptop to my room so I can choose an outfit for later while still waiting for Kingsley. Ngayon lang kasi s'ya may time so we're taking advantage of it kahit maguumaga na doon.
I really don't know what to wear.
I was still browsing through my clothes when I heard Kingsley end his phone call. I hurried to where my laptop was and immediately asked him what the call was about.
"Confirming lang daw, wala naman gaano," he answered honestly. "Anong ginagawa mo?" He asked when he realized that my background was different from earlier.
"Naghahanap ako susuotin, lalabas kami ni Asher mamaya," I responded and went back to find an outfit.
"Iba na talaga," he teased and tsked. I shook my head and just continued to do what I was doing.
"Hindi pa 'no! Ewan! Basta, siguro para lang ipakita na seryoso talaga s'ya," I reasoned out because I really didn't know why. Itatanong ko na lang s'ya mamaya.
"Ayos na rin, tapang talaga no'n," he complimented Asher and shook his head.
"Maganda ba 'to?" I asked, pulling up the dress I was holding earlier. It was a beige, off-shoulder, semi-formal dress. It ends just above the knee and hugs my body well. It's casual but there's a hint of class, it's perfect.
