Chapter 19

"Thea, we need to run some tests on you." Simmons entered my room as I was speaking with Zachary. I had just thrown my pillow at him before turning my attention to the woman at my door.

"Uh okay is something wrong?" I questioned, standing to my feet. The room suddenly got very serious as opposed to the fun joking tone a few moments beforehand.

"We just wanted to make sure you weren't harmed by anything on the mission" she smiled but I could tell something was up. I nodded and followed her towards the lab that I had grown used to. Sitting down on the medical bed as my mother figure pulled out her supplies. "Let's start with a blood test" she turned to face me as she readied the supplies. "Could you—" she started.

"Got it" I cut her off, rolling up my sleeve for her to access my inner elbow.

"Yes, thank you" she tried to keep the energy calming. "And all done" Simmons finished. "Now I'm going to hook you up with some machines and I'll get you to do some exercises." She moved onto the next test.

"I'll go change" I told her, walking back to my room where I pulled on a black tank top and shorts before returning to the lab.

After hours of running, lifting, jumping and punching I was released.

"You can go rest now, I'm going to look over the results. Oh and don't forget to get some electro lights into you!" She called as I simple waved and stumbled through the halls.

"All done?" Zachary popped up in my doorframe as I fell back onto my bed. I quickly covered up my free arms before noting the voice with a small sigh.

"What? Were you waiting for me or something" I groaned, sitting up to face him.

"No, I was just thinking that it was taking a while for Simmons to run those tests" he points out with a shrug.

"She ran every test possible"

"Really? Why?"

"I have no idea" I sighed before yawning.

"Well I'll leave you to get some rest" he started to leave. I saluted lazily before falling onto my back once more, earning a chuckle from Zachary as he left to his own room.

"Our next mission is going to be a stealth operation" May explained to our team. "Thea and Zach will go in and take down the threat while Emily and Sage will rescue our leak."

"Looks like it's you and me again" he smiled as we walked out to gear up for the mission at hand.

"How great" I comment sarcastically. He dramatically gasped and clutched his chest as I rolled my eyes. "Would you stop fooling around and gear up, this is serious" I reminded him.

We stormed the building as a team, splitting up into our separate groups once inside to go our separate ways.

"This way!" Zachary called as the two of us rushed through the dark hallways. We rushed into a room to be faced with a dozen armed men. "Wrong room" Zachary noted before the two of us booked it down the hall in a sprint.

"Get them!"

"In here" I pulled Zachary into a room quickly, hiding us both from the men chasing us.

"Woah" he smirked down at me as our body's were pinned against each other. I only rolled my eyes and pushed him back, moving towards an object that sat in the Center on a table.

"What is this?" I questioned curiously, being careful not to touch it.

"Thea we have company!" He warned, looking back at me.

"Yeah yeah, I know." I turned to find him jumping into the hall again, ready for another fight. Soon enough I followed him into battle, knocking down one guy before another pushed me back into the room. The rest of the men ran in and the door shut tight behind them, locking us in and Zachary out.

"Thea!" Zachary yelled, fist pounding on the door. "Guys we have a problem, Thea was just locked in a room with about a dozen bad guys" he commed the rest of the team with worry filling his voice.
