"This was his last known location" I had looked out over the snowy base from a distance, planning my attack. "Two guards stationed out front, probably a dozen throughout the base. Shouldn't be a problem" I commented.Standing up I had slid down the hill, staying hidden as I got closer. I took my Icer and tried to shoot the two guards out front but it had been jammed with snow on the way down. "Great" I sighed, tossing it into the snow and taking the men down by hand.
I ran towards the men and kicked one back before I jumped up and wrapped my legs around the other one, spinning so that he would fall to the ground as well, punching them both out before continuing through. I had stollen the gun off of one guard and quietly entered the base.
"He's got to be here somewhere" I whispered to myself, gun at the ready while I looked in every room, oddly seeing no guards around. Taking in a deep breath I kicked down a door, aiming my gun to see the boy I was searching for. "Zachary!" I cheered, at the sight. Pausing slightly I noticed him staring blankly at me. "Zachary?" I questioned his behaviour as he slowly stepped forward.
He raised a gun to my head suddenly and I acted on instinct, kicking it away before he could take the shot. He grabbed my gun from my hands but I fought back, knocking that one away from him too and landing a few punches. My body was still weakened from the last mission but I fought through, trying to get him back with us as something was clearly wrong. He had kicked me back harshly and I shook my head in thought.
"Come on Zachary, it's me Thea" I tried but he held me in a headlock tightly, my back pressed against his body. I knew that from this position he could easily snap my neck and kill me but I knew that the real Zachary wouldn't do that, no matter how much he hated me. "Please, don't do this" I begged, tears running down my cheek, more for him than myself. He blinked and shook his head lightly before putting on a stern blank face once again, slightly loosening his hold on me.
"Take her to a cell" the Doctor with a mask ordered him. I gasped as I was suddenly handcuffed and being forced down the hall by Zachary.
"Please Zachary, don't do this. It isn't you" I continued to talk to him as we followed the doctor down the sketchy hallway filled with empty rotting cells.
"Don't worry, I have a plan" he leaned down close to whisper in my ear. I looked back at him in shock before nodding along after seeing his stone cold expression.
"I don't want to die!" I cried out some more, playing along with the plan.
"Just wait for me and I'll get you out of there" he whispered the rest of his plan before throwing me roughly into the empty cell. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he felt bad for what was happening but he had to keep up a wall.
I had sat in the cell for hours, staring blankly at the bars in thought until the Doctor had returned.
"Hello miss Anderson" he taunted. "We have some tests to run on you" I tried to move backwards while he opened the cell but by back hit the cold brick wall and I was dragged out kicking and screaming by two men, Zachary nowhere in sight. The strapped me to a metal table and began running tests.
They had taken blood sample, tissue sample and everything else they could have taken from me. I was near death when they sat me in a chair, tying my wrists to the arms so that I was forced to sit and watch as a screen was turned on in front of me.
"Zachary" I gasped, seeing him appear on the screen in just as much pain as I was in. A machine was strapped around his head, sending pulses to his brain in shockwaves as he cried out in pain, not knowing that I was seeing this. With the last scream of pain his head hung low and the screen clicked off.
"No" I cried silently from my spot, tears threatening my eyes, knowing another person was dead because of me. I have no protests as I was taken back to the cell where I waited and waited for no one to rescue me.
