For a moment there I stood frozen .. rooted on my spot as if the name spoken was a curse given to me.

" Ms. Alarcon, are you still there? " the cool voice of a woman snapped me back to reality.

I cleared my throat before I answered," Yes. What can I do for you, Ms. Figueroa? " I asked trying to sound normal and professional.

" As what I've mentioned I am Ms. Nathalie's secretary and she asked me to contact you because she wants to hire your service. She's planning of a huge wedding anniversary and that needs to be taken care of ASAP. " she said as if I don't have a choice but to agree.

But wait .. wedding anniversary? I felt my heart constricted when it dawned on me.

" W-when? " that's the only word I can ask because I felt like my voice would give a way to give the person I'm talking to an impression that I'm guilty.

" She's planning the party a day after she and her husband arrive from Paris. "

I swallowed a big lump from my throat and mustered all my strength to steady my voice, " You can come to my office so we could discuss all the details. "

" Sure. I'll be there by afternoon. " the lady said before dismissing the call not even bothering to ask where my office is located.

But of course she knows that .. alam nga nya ang personal number ko.

But of all people bakit ako pa ang napili to arrange their anniversary party? I bet it is a surprise because if Arjel knew this would happen he will probably warn me.

Part of me wants to back out but I have a feeling that they won't let me ..

" How'sCebu? " Daryl asked when I arrived.

I sat on the sofa and leaned my back against it. I felt so exhausted.

" Fine. " wala sa sariling sagot ko.

He sat beside me and gently massaged my temple. I find comfort as his hands moved against my skin.

" You looked so tired. Papasok ka pa ba ngayon? " bakas ang pag aalala sa boses nya.

" I need to. " I leaned my head against his shoulders.

He stopped massaging my head and tucked his arm under my nape para mas makahilig ako sa katawan nya.

" Nandu'n naman si Jessa. She's capable if doing your job well. "

" I already left my pending works to her when I went to Cebu. It would be unfair if I will still let her do my job kahit nandito na ako. "

" Puede ko syang samahan kung gusto mo. " he said playfully.

I looked at him and saw the smirk from his face.

" Hey, don't you dare hit on my friend! " I smacked his shoulder lightly when he just chuckled on my warning.

" Wala ka bang tiwala sa pinsan mo? "

" Depende. " he scowled upon hearing that but I just stuck my tongue out to him.

Don't get me wrong. I love my cousin but he is a certified playboy and I don't want him to break my friends heart. He could flirt with anyone but he needs to spare my friends.

" So, you're back. "

We both looked behind us when we heard Hans' voice.

" Pare, uso doorbell sa'men. " Daryl said sarcastically na tinawanan lang ni Hans.

" Bukas gate n'yo eh. " he said in nonchalance bago lumapit at umupo sa kabilang side ko.

I felt his eyes darted towards me but I opted not to look at him.

" Teka lang. Kuha lang ako ng merienda nakakahiya sa bisita. " Daryl stood up and playfully whacked Hans' head. " Matunaw yang pinsan ko 'wag mo pakatitigan. "

" Sinusubukan ko lang baka ma fall. " Hans kidded na tinawanan lang ni Daryl bago tuluyang umalis para pumunta ng kusina.

Hans scooted beside me and I wasn't expecting it when he leaned closer. I immediately moved away from him.

There was a glint from his eyes that I cannot put a name into. But when he spoke I felt my heart stopped.

" Arjel Joaquin Dominguez. " he uttered slowly while watching my reaction.

I froze the moment he mentioned his name. May alam ba sya?

" Uhm .. w-what? " I asked stammering. My heart is beating loudly against my chest na pakiramdam ko ay naririnig na nya.

" Are you aware where you've gotten yourself into? " he asked icily.

I swallowed a lump and avoided his gaze. Nilalamig ang mga kamay ko sa sobrang kaba.

" I-I don't know w-what you're t-talking about. " pag iwas ko.

" You're not a very good liar, Zia. "

Sasagot pa sana ako when I heard Daryl's footsteps. I immediately stood up.

" P-pahinga lang ako s-sandali. " hindi tumitinging paalam ko at hindi na sila hinintay na sumagot dahil iniwan ko na sila agad.

Nang makawala ako sa paningin nilang dalawa ay halos tumakbo ako papasok ng kuarto. I immediately closed the door and leaned against it.

I closed my eyes while trying to calm my breathing.

" Paano nya kaya nalaman? "

I felt like I and Arjel's own created world is getting smaller. The moment everyone discovered the real score between us we're doomed!
