Tail-man was more than just the best in your eyes, he was the most underrated pro-hero of your generation. That was just your humble opinion, of course, but you'd noticed his baffling lack of attention from both the media and the public. You saw how hard he worked every day, and you didn't think it was fair that he never got the recognition that other heroes did. It almost made it worse that he was so modest about it. He was always telling the few news sites that did interview him that it didn't matter if people remembered who he was or not, it was enough for him just to know that he'd been able to help out. I've met him a total of two times. And they were both this these meet-and-greet party that some heroes hold to connect on a deeper level with their fans. Both times I had spoken to him for no more than two minutes so I'd seriously doubt it off he actually remembered who I was.
As I was about to continue daydreaming about my favorite hero my boss cost caught my attention with a tap on my shoulder. I looked up at her and raised an eyebrow, "(M/n), you're break ended like ten minutes ago. Stop daydreaming about your man crush and get to work." I blushed bright red before I stood up with a huff and made my way to the front of the cafe. Nothing interesting really happened and not a lot of people were coming in so I turned on the TV and put on the news. My eyes widened when I saw the heading for what was being broadcasted. "Pro-hero Tail-man is on the pursuit of the villain who ran off and away from police after stealing the contents of a bank on 10th street on the corner of Lee street." My eyes widened when I realized that was extremely close to our shop. Before I could tell my boss to barricade the door in case the villainy dies to come in here the door was slammed open.
Since I was Quirkless there wasn't much I could do. From what the news said about the villain and his quirk I knew that he could teleport every fifteen seconds which meant I only had one shot to do this and have a plan ready for what I'll be doing. I faked being scared when the villain turned towards me. They smirked before they brought the bag of money up and said, "Put all of the money in the cash register in here now, pretty boy." I unlocked the register and they teleported towards me but before they could react I took the bat that was meant for emergencies and straight-up slammed it on the side of his head. Everything went in slow motion the bag of money fell to the ground followed by the villain. I finally was able to breathe and I just held the bat in my hand as I called the police and told them about the incident.
It wasn't long till Tail-man showed up at the cafe a look of astonishment, slight worry, and recognition passed his facial features. I smiled at him and pointed at the villain with the bat, "There he is. I'm not quite sure when he'll wake up. I didn't attest to how hard I was going to hit him. I kinda just wanted to make sure he didn't hurt anyone." He looked at me before he put quirk-canceling cuffs on the villain and grabbed my hand, "Thank you for helping me out, (M/n)." My eyes widened, "You know my name?" He chuckled a bit, "Of course I'll know the name of the guy who has been supporting me since the beginning." I smiled and he placed a kiss on my knuckles, "Hope we see each other more often. Goodbye." I said goodbye and with that, he left.
—————
True to that we continued to see each other and at some point, we admitted to having feelings for each other. And that's how I met the love of my life and in my opinion the best pro-hero and boyfriend out there.
