Adopted! (Fifth Harmony)

Bad dreams!

Lauren pulls her hand from Lacey's hair. "Baby you're bleeding!" She says
I walk over go confirm a small cut on the back of Lacey's head. "I told you I hit my head!"
"Now do you believe her Mimi!" Lauren yells at me jumping into the drivers seat. I get into the passengers seat and Lacey in the back.

"I'm sorry Lauren I thought that Lacey was lying!"
"But why? She has never lied before why would she start now?"
"I don't know!"
"So you can think that our honest to god daughter would lie but a bunch of snobby rich 9 year old kids wouldn't!"
"I know it was flawed logic but when I asked her what happened the story was nothing like what the headmistress told me so I guess I had more trust in that adults version!"
"If you weren't going to believe Lacey why did you even ask her view!"
"We really shouldn't be fighting about this!"
"We shouldn't but you wont even admit that you were wrong!"
"Because I wasn't wrong to want both sides of the story!"
"You got both you just didn't have faith that Lacey's was true!"
"PLEASE STOP! PLEASE!" Lacey yells banging on the back seat.
"Lacey what's wrong!"
"Please don't make me go through this again that's how it would always start!"
"What?!?"
"Stop!" She cries, in tears on her lap. We drive into our driveway and Lauren takes Lacey in her arms and carries her upstairs.

Lauren's pov
I lay her down on the bed and she continues to cry. I wrap her in my arms and stroke her hair until she calms down. "Mommy Lolo! Is mommy Mila take me back to the orphanage because I was bad!" I looked at her like I saw a ghost.
"Of course not! Never! We are never gonna leave you. You will forever be with us! And no matter how mad we are at you we will always love you. Mila was just confused about what happen! Ok?"
"Ok mommy Lolo! I love you!"
"Love you too Mi Amor, now sleep!"
She cuddles into me and eventually falls asleep.

Camila's pov
Lauren comes back down an hour or so later. We all are sitting in the living room including the other girls. "She's sleeping soundly!"
"What happened?" Ally asks
"Yeah she came into the house screaming and crying about stop don't hurt me!" Dinah says
"We don't know!" Lauren says
"Me and Lauren were fighting and then Lacey screamed stop and was crying!" I say
"Do you think it has something to do with her past?"
"Definitely!" I say
"What were you guys fighting about?" Normani asks
"Well the headmistress explained in detail a story of how Lacey just instigated a fight and punched a kid!"
"Well didn't she?" Dinah asks
"Now here's the thing, Lacey said that the child was pushing her and that she fell and hit her head so she launched at the guy with a knuckle sandwich! Camila didn't believe her and that really upset me so then we were fighting over why she didn't believe her!" Lauren says
"I just trusted the head mistress' explanation more than Lacey's!" I say
"But you shouldn't have and that's the problem!" Lauren yells
"I'm sorry that I didn't trust all if the words that come out of a five year olds mouth!"
"It took blood on her head for you to believe her!"
"I know but I still had an instant feeling that the headmistress' story was more believable!"
"Ok so now a little girl younger than everyone else in the class is going to walk up to some guy and punch him in the face is more believable than the older boy bullying her then pushing her causing her to hit him."
"Ok I hear now how stupid that sounds."
"Good because it was stupid! And either or way you should've believed her no matter what because she is our daughter and that's that!"
"I had good reasoning!"
"But she is our daughter and you should've trusted her!"
"Ok ok I'm sorry!i was wrong!"
"Thank you that's all I ask for!"
"Okay no but seriously we need to read that file we can't keep putting this off!"
"Tomorrow cause I am tired!" Normani says.
"We really can't keep putting this off!"
"Yeah it's important I'm getting really worried about Lacey!"
"Ok ok tomorrow I promise!"
"Ok goodnight!" We all go to our rooms and I lay in my bed and fall asleep.

~the middle of the night!~

"Ahhhhhh! Help me! No, no, no! Please Help me!" I jumped out of bed to see Lacey's body flinging around the bed but she's asleep, she's screaming. She's sweating and struggling for breath. I run to her bedside and shake her and she wakes up crying. I pull her into my chest as she continues to cry and scream. She's still shaking and wheezing as she gasps for air. "Shhh! It's ok baby! It's ok I got you!"
"Mommy help me!"
"I am right here baby!" she's shaking and trembling. Ally comes in facing my back. "I'll go get the file!" She says and runs out of the room. I cradle Lacey in my arms as the other girls file into the room. "Is she ok?"
"It seems like she had a bad dream!" She continues to cry and so we decide to sing to her.

"Hey don't cry sweetie!" I rock her back and forth. Soon enough she falls asleep as Ally trips up the stairs with the file in her hands. We lay her down and walk into the living room. Time to find out what happened to Lacey.
