I was starting to stretch when a girl told me to move because I was in her way of her running. The coach told us to come together and make a circle. We had to give her our names and I wasn't surprised that I was the last one. So, the coach name is Mrs. Jennings and she told to start batting and she'll see how we do. The girl who told me to move earlier name is Grace. She was a pro at batting, she hitted it all the way to the grass or the outfield. Everybody got a turn, when it was my turn. I got my black and silver bat and waited at home base. The first pitch, I hit it out to the outfield. Second pitch, even farther and third pitch, I made a home run. Then, the coach asked us who wants to practice pitching, nobody raised their hand, until I did. "Okay Michelle, let's see what you got." I tried to remember how Mrs. Jennings pitched the softball, so I pitched and it went straight into the middle. I pitched again, it curved, but straight into the middle again. I could just hear the coach, "Magnificent!" Then everybody took a break. "Eww what happened to your eye, did you hurt it while working in the fields?" said Grace while laughing. "She probably doesn't even know what we're saying," said a girl named Meagan who was also laughing. "Maybe she is waiting for us to give her money." said Hilary. "You don't belong here," is what Sarah, Nicole, and Angie were repeating. I just ignored them and drank my water. Later on when we were still practicing, everybody was still trying to say something mean to me except for one person named Mary. Mary came up to me and told me, "Don't worry about them Michelle, their just jealous that your better than them. The only thing they are good at is being mean and nobody wants to have friends like that. "Thanks," I said. The coach brought everybody together and called the names of who made the softball team. "Alright good job girls, it was really difficult, but I think I made the right choices, if I didn't call your name, thank you for coming, you did a good job. Grace, Meagan, Mary, Sarah, Julia, Angie, Hilary, and Nicole. I was disappointed, I thought for sure I made the team. "Opps, sorry I forgot to call someone, "Michelle, you are going to be our team's pitcher this season, great job." "Thank you Mrs. Jennings!"
I went home and told everybody the news, everybody was excited except for my papa. He didn't look too happy, but what do I care what he thinks, he left the living room where we were and he went to the bedroom. "Michelle Garcia is the new pitcher for her first softball team!" I yelled with excitement.
