The phone ranged again. "Hhheeellloooo." "Mija is that you?" "Mama you're okay?!" "Yeah I am just that Àngel crashed into a tree, idiot, but were fine." "Okay mama well a college scout from Stanford asked me if I wanted a full scholarship to Stanford and that I'm an honor roll student and if I want to join the softball team." "Oh that's great mija! Take it!" "Okay mama, well I have to go, bye mama. "Bye mija." I hanged up the phone. I decided to call the college scout after the championship. My phone started ringing, it was a group call with Grace and Meagan.
Grace-G
Meagan-M
Michelle-MGG- Hey Michelle and Meagan
M-Hey Guys
MG-Hey
G-Guys did you pay for the trip for Australia already cause I did!
M-I did too, did you Michelle?
MG-Um not yet, but soon
G-Okay, but hurry the championship is next week and the trip is in two weeks.
MG-Okay, we'll I got to go guys bye.
G-Bye
M-Bye
I hanged up the phone and I took a shower leaving Marisol and Juan to watch tv. After 20 minutes, I made dinner. While we were all eating, I was thinking about the money and if I'm even going on the trip. Marisol and Juan looked at me and were about to say something, but didn't. After dinner, we all went to bed. In the middle of the night, I heard the door open. Oh great....papa is here, but at least mama is here, too. I went down stairs and I saw mama and papa. I hugged my mama and ignored papa. I told my mama about what Grace told me, but had a sad look on her face. "I'm sorry mija, but I don't think we still have the right amount of money, but you still haven't walked any dogs yet, you know." "Yeah I know." Papa just cleared his throat and walked to the bedroom. "Mija we'll talk about it in the morning alright." "Alright mama." I went back to bed and still thinking about the trip. The next morning, my mama woke me up and told me, "Um mija, I got a call from your coach and the money is due today for your trip and you need to turn it in the recreation center." "What?!" I ran to the living room with Mama and counted the money we had in our savings. The bad part is mama needs $130, which is exactly what we had, to pay for the dent we had on the car, since my papa crashed into the tree. I was depressed, until papa came into the room. "What are you sad about?" "We don't have enough money to go on the trip." Papa left the room, but then came back with a box. "Àngel, you still have that box I gave you? I thought you said you threw it away." "I was lying, but here Michelle." I was confused, but I opened the box and it was filled with money. There was a sticky note that said $1,356, which I'm guessing that's how much money there was in the box. Papa said, "Take the $200, so I don't have to see your face for a week or more. Also, I heard you have been talking to a boy and let me tell you this. Boys are a waste of time and you wouldn't know that because you don't use that thing you call a brain!" He left. What the heck, he gave me the money, and still tells me something mean, that's weird. I looked at mama who was smiling a little. I ran to the recreation center and payed the money. "Okay Michelle, you are set," said the lady in the front office. "Thank you." I ran back to the house and cheered with joy. A week later, we were in the championship. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the last game we played against the Black Widows, was the game where we made it into the championship or not. I changed into my uniform and headed to the field with mama, Marisol, and Juan. Papa said he was too "tired." I looked at the team we were playing against "The Juagars". Ha that's funny, Juagars. I looked at the team and woah. They are running fast, pitcher faster that the one in the Black Widows, and fast throwing. Our team can do this we need to try more harder than we ever been and I need to practice pitching, this might be one of the best games ever.
