Double Life

Chapter 11

I'm officially back guys.  I finally have internet and settled into my place.  Its been kinda crazy and I haven't written as much as I would have liked but  I did the best I could considering.  Enjoy 

Lauren and Tyler walk into school the next day holding hands. Tyler is dressed as Harley since everyone in school believes they are dating. Alister walks into school dressed as Tyler. Alister walks over to Lauren and Tyler who are at Lauren's locker. "Hey" Lauren says and studies Alister, "You were right, you two do look like each other." "Told you so" Tyler says. Destiny walks over, "Morning Tyler...thing one. I'm only agreeing to go on a date with you because Tyler asked." "Wait really" Alister asks his face lighting up with excitement. "Unfortunately" Destiny says. "You won't be disappointed" Alister says ignoring what Destiny just said.

"Doubtful" Destiny says, "Just text me the information." Destiny walks away. "Oh my god" Alister says still smiling, "I got a date with Destiny. Thank you, Tyler." "A deal is a deal" Tyler says. "I got to go plan the perfect date" Alister says walking off. "That went well" Tyler says, "So you wanna go on a date after school?" "Well Alaska has been bugging me to introduce you to her" Lauren says, "What do you say?" "It's a yes if you're sure" Tyler says. "I'm positive" Lauren says. "Then it looks like I'm meeting your sister" Tyler says.

The school day passes by relatively quickly and it's now time for Tyler to officially meet Alaska as Tyler Echo and not as Harley Davidson. Tyler quickly changes out of the Harley Davidson disguise in a corner of the school then meets Lauren at her car. Tyler sees Alister standing to the side while Lauren and Destiny talk. "Hey" Tyler says. "Hey" Destiny says. "You ready" Lauren asks. "As ready as I'll ever be" Tyler says then turns to Alister, "Good luck man." "You too" Alister says. Alister and Destiny walk to Alister's car while Tyler climbs into Laurens's car with Lauren following shortly after.

They soon arrived at Lauren's house and they entered her house. "Alaska you here" Lauren called out. "I'm in the kitchen" Alaska answers back. Tyler lets out the breath that she was holding and Lauren grabs her hand to help calm her. It works and Tyler gives Lauren a small smile as Alaska rounds the corner. Alaska quickly greets Lauren before turning to face Tyler, "And you must be the famous Tyler." "Its nice to meet you" Tyler says smiling and holding out her hand. "And it's nice to finally meet the girl that my sister can't shut up about" Alaska says shaking Tyler's hand. "Alaska" Lauren says in embarrassment.

"What" Alaska asks, "I was just saying. Well come on you two, dinners nearly ready." Tyler and Lauren follow Alaska into the dining room. Alaska walks into the kitchen to grab the food while Tyler pulls out Lauren's chair. "Thanks" Lauren says smiling and sitting down. "Don't mention it" Tyler says and claims a seat next to Lauren just as Alaska walks back in with the food. "Dig in foods hot" Alaska says. Alaska uses this time to get to know Tyler and of course to Lauren's horror tell several embarrassing stories.

"Oh wait" Alaska says after she calms down from laughing at the embarrassing story she just told Tyler, "We have a picture of that actually." Lauren's eyes widen in horror upon hearing that, "No don't." "I'm going to go find that picture" Alaska says getting up and walking off to find the picture. "She's cool" Tyler says. "She is" Lauren says, "Just wait til I meet your parents." Tyler's smile faulters and Lauren looks at her, "What's wrong Tyler?" "Its kinda just been me my whole life" Tyler says, "My parents are barely around, they are always away on some trip for business." Lauren puts her hand on Tyler's shoulder, "Tyler...I'm so sorry, I didn't..." "Its fine" Tyler says giving Lauren a small smile, "It's nice to actually have people want me around."

"I'll always want you around" Lauren says starting to lean in. Tyler begins to lean in and their lips are about to touch when the front door opens and a guy says, "Girls, we are home." Tyler and Lauren pull apart. "Hi dad, mom" Lauren says standing up and hugging her parents, "How was it?" "It was for work" Lauren's mom says, "Boring but necessary. Where's Alaska and Destiny? And who is this young man?" "I'm right here" Alaska says walking in with a photo album in her hand, "And Destiny is currently on a date." "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Carr" Tyler says holding out her hand, "I'm Tyler-" "My girlfriend" Lauren says interrupting Tyler.

Lauren smiles at Tyler and Tyler smiles back. Alaska looks at Lauren in shock at first but then smiles at her with pride. Lauren's parents look between Tyler and Lauren in shock. Just then Destiny and Alister walk into the house laughing but stop when they see the scene in front of them. "What's going on" Destiny asks. "Girl-girl-girlfriend" Lauren's mom says. "Your what" Lauren's dad asks. "Mom, dad" Lauren says, "I'm bi and Tyler is my girlfriend." The room is filled with an awkward silence as Tyler, Lauren, Alaska, Destiny, and Alister look Mr. and Mrs. Carr trying to gage their reaction while Mr. and Mrs. Carr look between Lauren and Tyler.

After several tense seconds, Mrs. Carr says, "Its just a phase honey." Lauren's smile turns into a frown upon hearing that. "What about that nice boy...what's his name" Mr. Carr asks, "The one that you sang those songs with." "Harley" Lauren says. "You should date him" Mrs. Carr says, "You like him, he likes you, it's a perfect match." "I don't want to date him" Lauren says intertwining her hand with Tyler's, "I want to date Tyler." "And I think its for the best that Tyler leaves and doesn't return" Mr. Carr says, "At least until this phase ends." "Its not a phase" Lauren says. "Thanks for dinner, it was delicious" Tyler says, "It was nice meeting you Mr. and Mrs. Carr." Tyler gives a tight lipped smile and nod to everyone before leaving.

Lauren watches Tyler leave then quickly goes to her bedroom before her parents can say anything else to her. Lauren collapse on her bed as the tears escape her eyes. A few minutes later, there is a knock on her door and then Alaska, Destiny, and Alister walk over to her. "I shouldn't have told them" Lauren says. "You know they would have found out sooner or later" Alaska says. "I guess..." Lauren says. "Well then you should give your parents the metaphoric middle finger" Tyler says. "Ty" Lauren says smiling and pulling Tyler into a hug. "You should date Harley" Tyler says. "But I don't want to hide behind Harley" Lauren says. "It's a win win though" Tyler says, "You get to date me but your parents think your dating Harley. I know it's not what you want but we have to use the cards we have been dealt at this point." Lauren looks over at Alaska, Destiny, and Alister who all nod. "Ok" Lauren says.
