Double Life

Chapter 9

"You wanna go somewhere more private to talk" Tyler asks. "Sure" Lauren says, "Why don't we go to my favorite pizza place because I'm kinda hungry actually." "Sounds like a plane to me" Tyler says. After Tyler resituates the wig on her head with the help of Lauren and they arrive at the pizza place grabbing a booth, Lauren turns to Tyler, "Well..." "Like I said before" Tyler says, "It all started the day after I met you."

I close the door and lean back against it. "Holy shit" I say sliding down the door, "I can't believe that just happened." For starters I can't believe I'm friends...wait, are we friends or am I reading too much into the situation? I mean I think we are friends...whatever I'm over thinking this, anyway the Lauren Carr talked and hung out with me today. And second, I might have a shot with her because she told me she was bi. There is only one problem Lauren is popular and I'm a loser. Man...I wish I had an actually shot with my dream girl. Wait...that's it.

Lauren mentioned that her biggest dream was to become a musician when she grew up. What if I made that dream a reality? Then I might actually have a shot with Lauren, it's not like I have anything to lose. You know what, screw it, I'm gonna do it. Operation...I'll think of a name later is a go. I spent the rest of the night figuring out everything I needed to do tomorrow so that I could put operation...something into motion. I need to figure out a name because I need to enroll, or would it be reenrolling since I already go there...whatever the point is I'm going to be attending Lockhell as someone else.

I never thought I would say this but, I'm kinda glad I'm the loser at school. Because I'm the loser at school, no one wants to hang out with me, so I've had a lot of free time to do whatever I've wanted. And for some reason I chose to teach myself how to play the guitar, bass, piano, and drums which is now going to become very handy in impressing Lauren and the plan I am putting into motion that I still need to figure out the name of my alter ego. The only thing I don't know is if I can sing or not, guess I will find out soon enough.

Tyler stops talking when their food arrives and unfortunately it happens to be none other then Xavier delivering their food. Xavier flashes a smile at Lauren before glaring at Tyler. Tyler just rolls her eyes. "So are you and the wannabe a thing" Xavier asks. Tyler looks away shaking her head. "The wannabe has a name, its Harley" Lauren says, "His name is Harley." Xavier just rolls his eyes, "Are you?" "It's complicated" Lauren says. "Well since you're not" Xavier says, "How about we go see a movie?" "I'm busy" Lauren says. "I didn't mean now" Xavier says, "What about Friday?" "Again, I'm busy" Lauren says. Xavier scoffs, "He's just using you and when you realize that, I'll be waiting."

Xavier walks off and Tyler says, "What an asshole." "Just ignore him" Lauren says, "He's not worth it. So, I take it the reason why you didn't come to school the rest of the week and pretended to be sick was because you had to be Harley." "Exactly" Tyler says, "So Wednesday I spent getting ready and preparing myself mentally. That was the day I went out and bought a whole new wardrobe for Harley including a few blonde wigs, writing the song that I sang to you that Thursday at glee club, and enrolling at Lockhell as Harley Davidson because I finally picked a name. Then it was Thursday, time to put the plan in action and see if it was successful or not."

I end up walking into my first class late because I was trying to calm my racing heart because this was it. This day would determine what happened. Lauren's first impression of me was the total opposite of what I was expecting, she was not impressed in the slightest, I think it's safe to say she didn't like me at all. Well this was a huge mistake; I did this for Lauren and she is not happy. On the bright side no one recognizes me so I can just disappear and pretend this never happened.

Not exactly sure what happened between the fifteen minutes that I didn't see Lauren, but she is being nice and has warmed up to me. Not that I'm complaining. We end up talking and I have to remember that she knows Tyler but doesn't know Harley, last thing I want to do is slip up and say something wrong. By the end of the day we are friends and the main reason I created Harley Davidson is about to be put to the test. I almost miss glee club because I end up standing in the hallway for almost an hour giving myself a pep talk. Turns out I can actually sing. Now its time to put the final step of the plan into action, recruiting Alister Young.

"Why Alister" Lauren asks, "And sorry I came off that way. I was upset that you weren't coming to school because I really wanted to hang out with you." "Its fine don't worry about it" Tyler says, "Several reasons. We look similar, people mistake us for each other all the time and he has connections." Tyler pays for the meal when Xavier comes back with the check. "I can pay for myself" Lauren says. "What kind of boyfriend and date would I be if I didn't pay" Tyler asks. "Boyfriend" Lauren asks raising her eyebrow. "I mean I did ask you to be my girlfriend and you did say yes so..." Tyler says.

"Is that so" Lauren asks smirking, "If I recall Harley asked me not Tyler." Tyler smiles and rolls her eyes, "You wanna go get some ice cream?" "Yes" Lauren says. They walk out of the pizzeria and down the street to the ice cream shop. Once they have their ice cream and are sitting, Lauren asks, "So how did you convince Alister to help you? If I recall correctly Alister bullied you." "Like I said before bribery and knowledge" Tyler says, "Its no secret that Alister likes Destiny and yes as in the Destiny your little sister. So I just had to explain the plan to him and I knew he would be in."

Me and Lauren had just sung our first of what I hope is many songs together. Just like the first time I heard her sing, she is amazing. I'm still trying to figure out how she hasn't made it in the industry yet. Next thing I know is that Alister wants to talk to me. This is perfect, now I don't have to go track him down. He starts talking about a party he is planning to throw and wants me to come, but I'm not paying much attention. My mind is on the conversation I need to have with him. I interrupt him and basically tell him I have a way for him to get closer to Destiny.

At first he is wondering how the hell I know he likes Destiny but quickly forgets it when I mention Destiny and him having a chance. I take him to a secluded area and tell him that if he tells anyone this I guarantee Destiny will want nothing to do with him. He agrees and motions for me to tell him. I take off my wig. Alister is confused at what is happening. I then proceed to tell him how I created Harley Davidson to get closer to Lauren, but if Harley and Tyler aren't seen in public together people could get suspicious so I need his help to pull this off.

Alister laughs at me then realizes I'm serious. He then asks why him and points out that he doesn't like me. I tell him because we look similar and he has connections. I then go on to explain if he pretends to be me or Harley we will be hanging out with Lauren whose sister happens to be Destiny the girl he likes. Alister looks to be considering it but isn't sold. I tell him he will have to get expelled and go to another school and use his connection to make it look like he is attending. He just raises his eyebrow and I then tell him I will put in a good word about him to Destiny. Alister then agrees to help me but tells me that he still hates me and is only doing this because of Destiny.

"Alister then proceeds to get expelled so that he can dress as my other half" Tyler says, "That text I got when you came over that Friday was Alister telling me he got expelled. I then had to go over so that we could get the pan all squared out so that no one would become suspicious." "So now what" Lauren asks as we walk down the street. "We tell Destiny the truth and I put in a good word about Alister as promised" Tyler says, "Then we just go from there." "Thank you Tyler" Lauren says hugging Tyler, "For everything." "Don't mention it" Tyler says. "I'm so glad I helped you out of that closet Ty" Lauren says smiling. "Me too Lolo" Tyler says smiling, "Me too."
