It was the first day of school, her father refused to say even a word to her after what she had done, still, he let Kira go to the school she wanted for the sole purpose of watching her fail against Shoto. He was convinced that if that happened she would give up. With her new uniform on and a smile on her face, she went to school, after all, she was now closer than ever to fulfill her dreams.
—We are in the same class.
Shoto reminded her while walking down the hall. She nodded, not paying much attention to him, he was too nervous to do so.
—May I sit next to you? I don't feel comfortable in a room full of strangers.
—I was going to ask you the same thing.
The boy replied as he scratched the back of his neck, he was even more nervous than her sister, or so she thought. They walked together and followed one of their classmates to get inside the 1-A classroom. Too nervous to say anything, they both found a seat and waited patiently for the teacher. Noone approached them yet they did not care, they both liked having space for their own, and having their twin beside them was, for once, comforting.
Kira saw a man slipping out of a sleeping bag and signaled it with her head to her brother, confused about what was going on. Was that the teacher? As silence struck the room the man finally introduced himself.
—Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher.
The redhead locked her confused gaze with her brother, that was the teacher? She thought they would have a famous hero guiding them, but she didn't know him. Shoto's expression was the same as hers, confused, yet intrigued.
—I know this is sudden, but change into your PE clothes and meet me on the sports field.
The entire class gave them a confused look, yet they obeyed. In the blink of an eye, they were outside, standing in front of the teacher with curiosity sparkling in their eyes until they heard what the teacher's plan was. A quirk apprehension test, sounded boring, or at least to Kira, still it was better than a welcoming ceremony or the orientations. She looked to her side only to hold her laugh when she saw her brother had the same expression she had moments ago. Once she put herself back together she turned her attention to the teacher, who was explaining how they would perform some physical tests using their quirks.
—Bakugo, Todoroki Kira, you both were in first place during the entrance exam, right?
She nodded, taking a step forward, noticing then who the person she shared first place with was, only to notice it was the blond guy who she found annoying that day.
—Which was the best result you had at ball throwing?
— 67 meters
—65 meters
They said at the same time before glaring at one another.
—Let's see who does it best using their quirk.
Aizawa gave a ball to each of them and they stood each on one circle ring of the diel before throwing the ball. Kira used her fire to propel the ball as high and far as she could, but she knew she had probably ruined it due to this as it was slightly burned when it fell back. Both of them looked towards the teacher who had two phones in his hands, showing the results.
— 705.1?
Kira whispered going back to her place, mad at herself for not doing better.
—Not bad, extra.
—I'll destroy you.
—You just showed you can't
Her face turned red with anger, while her brother quickly pulled her to his side, avoiding the fight that was about to go down. It took some seconds before she fully calmed down, hearing then that the one with the lowest score would be expelled. For Kira that was enough, she looked at her bother with a cynical smile on her face, it was time to prove she was the best twin.
—Don't even think about it.
Said the oldest of the two, he didn't want to compete against her, not because she was stronger, but because she was his sister. For him competing against each other would hurt their relationship, if they had any of it left. Nonetheless, if she wanted to compete then he was not going to go easy with her.
—I already did. I will beat you.
Kira saw him sigh, almost disappointed. His following words were said with hurt in his voice.
—Then it's on, sister.
And with that, they both got ready to put their full effort into their tests.
They both competed against different people in each small task except for one, the long-distance run, in which they both ended up in second place after Iida. Kira was furious. How could that even be possible? Her rage only grew when Aizawa saw the results, she was second, as well as her twin, both the exact same number of points.
—That's it, first I lost against an idiot who broke his finger and now I'm in a draw with Shoto? I WANT A REMATCH!
She demanded, almost shaking with rage, for the whole class to see. Did she seriously want a rematch after being in second place? What was wrong with her?
—There will be no such thing. Oh, and the part where I said the last one on the list would be expelled... I lied, I wanted to make sure you were giving your best.
Everybody seemed confused at his words, yet nobody really spoke up about it.
—Your schedule and other things you need will be in the classroom, make sure you take a look at them after you change.
And with that, the teacher left. Kira glared at her twin, who didn't seem to mind it at all.
—Rematch. Now.
—He said no rematch, go change Kira.
She saw him walk back towards the building, only increasing her anger.
—I SAID REMATCH! COWARD!
—IT 'S ON!
She heard from none other than the annoying blond guy.
—WHO INVITED YOU?
— I INVITED MYSELF. I WANT A REMATCH, BITCH!
— YOU LOST, EXPLOSIVE IDIOT, ACCEPT IT!
—NO, YOU CHEATED!
—F...
She felt a cold hand covering her mouth, while a much warmer arm hugged her around her waist, practically carrying her towards the school.
—Stop it.
She relaxed, noticing it was Shoto who was dragging her. She didn't mind it, it was one of the few ways he showed he cared, dragging her out of trouble.
—You know, if you keep getting on each other's nerves with that boy you will end up destroying the school.
—He's so annoying...
— So are you.
Kira let out a little laugh, elbowing her brother with little to no strength in the process.
—Shut up! Let's go splitted dumb-dumb.
Soon enough they were both walking to the station, after getting their schedules from their classroom. It was time to go back home and rest, at least till the next day.
