For the next few days, we were inseparable. I enjoyed being with Bucky there. Everyone was so nice to me, but I couldn't stop thinking about how I wanted to spend some time at home, with Bucky, of course. I didn't talk about that with Bucky because I didn't want to make him sad. I was sure he wasn't able to go home.

One morning I woke up, and Bucky wasn't there. At first, I thought everything was a dream, and I became sad, but then someone came into the tent. I looked up and saw Bucky. I ran to him, and he caught me, surprised. I wrapped my arms around him.
"You are real!" I exclaimed.
"Yes?" he said, confused.
"When I didn't see you beside me when I woke up, I thought everything was a dream," I said when I pulled away.
"Nice dream, I hope," he smiled.
"Of course," I said.
"Where were you, anyway?" I asked, looking at him.
"I went to talk to the captain," he said.
"What for?" I asked, confused. He didn't do anything against the rules. I knew that because I was with him all the time.
"I asked him if I could leave for few days," he said.
"And...?"
"He said I could," he said and hugged me, "We are going home!"
"Really?!" I exclaimed, happy.
"Yes!"

When we packed, we went to say goodbye to Steve because I was not going to come back with Bucky. I was going to stay home.
"Bye, Steve," I said, hugging him.
"Bye, Rose," he said.
"Aw, don't cry," he said, wiping tears from my face, "C'mon, we'll see each other again."
"We need to go, baby," Bucky said. I hugged Steve one more time, and we went.

While on the train, I asked him how come we were going home.
"I saw you were sad, and I wanted to surprise you," he said.
"I wasn't sad. I was happy. I was with you," I said like it was the most normal thing. Which to me, it was.
"No, I didn't mean sad all the time. Just sometimes, I would catch a glimpse of you, and you were deep in your thoughts, and when someone asked you what's up you would cover it up with a smile."
"And I thought you wanted to spend some time together, at home," he added.
"You were right," I said, with a smile.

The train came late at night, and we needed to catch a boat to America, but the first boat was to arrive the next morning.
"We need to find someplace to sleep," Bucky said. I didn't say anything. I was thinking.
"No," I said suddenly.
"What do you mean, no?" he asked, "It's not like we can wait for the boat here, in the open."
"No, we are going to fly," I said, concentrating.
"What do you mean to fly?" he asked, confused.
"I didn't tell you everything about me. Please promise you won't freak out," I said, and my eyes started glowing. Bucky backed away, scared and shocked.
"What the hell?!" he shouted.
"Come here, don't worry," I said, "I promise I will explain everything when we get home."
He slowly approached me. I took his hand.
"Don't be scared I would never let you go," I said, and we soared to the sky. Bucky looked down, shocked, but didn't scream.

We landed in our front garden. When we entered the house, Bucky immediately asked: "What was that?"
"Please, calm down. I said I'll tell you, and I will," I said.
"Where are you from?" he asked when he calmed down.
"I'm from Asgard," I said.
"So, you weren't joking the last time you said it. I'm sorry for laughing," Bucky apologized.
"Apology accepted," I smiled.
"How did you fly?" Bucky asked me. I told him everything I told Steve.
"... and that's it," I finished.
"So, you have powers," he said after few minutes.
"Yes," I said and added, "If you are mad at me, I understand."
"I'm not mad at you. I'm just shocked. I understand why you didn't tell me earlier," he said. We unpacked and went to sleep.

The four days we spent together were great, but they flew by. On the last day, a knock on the door woke us up. I looked at the alarm clock. It was 8 am.
"Who that?" Bucky asked, sleepy.
"Go check," I told him, sleepy as well.
"No, you," Bucky said. I hit him with a pillow.
"No!" he said, "You go!"
I tried to hit him with a pillow again, but he got away and fell off the bed. The doorbell rang.
"You up, you go," I said to him. He stuck out his tongue at me, and I threw a pillow at him. He got away and went to open the door. I heard mumbling. I couldn't hear who that was or what they were saying. I got up and went to the bathroom to change. When I finished, I went to the living room to see who came. When I entered, I saw Steve sitting in the armchair and Bucky sitting on the sofa. Steve got up when he saw me.
"Steve!" I exclaimed and went over to hug him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked when I pulled away.
"I came to get Bucky," he said.
"What? Already? It's half-past eight!" I shouted, suddenly feeling sad. I knew it was our last day together, but I didn't know he needed to go so early.
"No, no," Steve said, and I calmed down, "We are going in the evening. I just came in the morning to spend some time with you."
"Really? That's great!" I exclaimed.

We spent a fun day watching movies and playing board games. Bucky and Steve were asking me questions about Asgard, and I promised them I would take them there once the war was over. Bucky told me the reason he was going back this early.
"I'm helping Steve destroy Hydra's base."
I opened my mouth to say something, but he stopped me: "Don't try to stop me, you know it won't work. Besides, this is easy. We just go there, destroy it and come back. It shouldn't take more than a few days. And it's not really dangerous."
"I didn't want to try to stop you, I wanted to wish you luck," I said.

At 7 pm, we were at the harbour, saying goodbye to each other. I was crying again, of course, and Bucky was calming me down saying that everything would be alright and that he would be back home in few days, and we would go to Asgard together. We heard a horn. Steve hugged me and went on the ship, leaving us to say goodbye to each other.
"When I come back, I promise I will put a ring on your finger and we will live together, happy, maybe even have kids," he said.
"I would love to," I said, imagining that.
"Goodbye, baby," Bucky said.
"Bye, Buck," I said, still crying. He kissed me one last time before he turned around and got on the ship.
Little did I know that was our last kiss.
