We trekked through the forest, Jake gazing at the bioluminescent plants in awe. "Where are we going?" Jake pushed on. He stopped, gaping in awe at the bioluminescent forest. "Come." Neytiri repeated. I humphed at how Neytiri hadn't let go of my wrist yet, while she had let go of Jake's, but said nothing about it. We jogged across the ground, which was glowing purple. My breath hitched. I mean, I loved the forest at day, but give me night anytime, this was amazing. "What's your name?" Jake asked. We reached a log, and a sudden whoosh-whoosh-whoosh reached my ears. My ear flicked and then I yelped as a bolo suddenly wrapped itself around Jake and I's legs. "Shit-!" I lost my balance and I was yanked down onto the damp ground below us. I quickly got up and I took out my dagger, cutting off the ropes around my legs and ankles swiftly as several Na'vi hunters thundered towards us on their pa'li. I took a defensive stance, gripping my dagger defensively. My tail flicked and my ears went down slightly. Jake untangled himself just as the group arrived in front of us. The riders aimed bows at us, and Jake pulled out a spear and made a run for it. I sighed just as a group of Na'vi hunters melted out of the shadows, whooping and aiming their spears and bows at us. I hissed as I was poked with a spear. Jake laughed nervously, his hands up in surrender. "Calm people, calm!" Neytiri jumped and landed in front of us, brandishing her knife threateningly at the whooping hunters. The most threatening of the group slipped off his pa'li with grace, disconnecting his tswin and aiming his bow at Jake. "What are you doing, Tsu'Tey?!" Neytiri hissed. "These demons are forbidden here." Tsu'Tey snarled. "There has been a sign. This is a matter for the Tsahik." Neytiri reasoned. Tsu'Tey looked us up and down before nodding to his hunting group, who slowly stopped aiming their weapons at us. "Bring them." Two natives grabbed me by the shoulders and they tied my wrists together. I snarled at a native that pinched my ass, smacking him with my tail. The native tightened my binds, and tied me to their pa'li. "What's going on?" Jake asked, just before his wrists were bound and he was connected to another native's pa'li. They took off towards the HomeTree, and I struggled to keep up. I leaped over streams and logs, and I dodged around trees and multiple vines and animals. We approached the HomeTree, and Tsu'Tey cried out an ululating warning to the natives in his path. The riders got off their pa'lis and they untied me and Jake, shoving me into a central area where many natives were gathered, knives held threateningly at our tswins. The natives surrounding us gawked at us, some of them reaching out to touch our skin and hair. I felt a small tug on my tswin and I turned to see a small child smiling at me. I smiled gently back before being roughly shoved forward.
I was pushed next to Jake, in front of the Eytukan. I bowed my head in respect for the clan leader. The Eytukan was tall and lanky, and he emitted an aura of power and slight fear. "Father, I See You." Neytiri greeted him, bowing slightly. "These creatures... why do you bring them here?" He inquired, glowering at me and Jake. I backed away slightly, the last thing I needed was to tick him off and have him kill me. "I was going to kill them, but there were signs from Eywa." Neytiri explained. "I have said no dreamwalker will come here to offend our home!" He demanded "What's he saying..?" Jake asked me. "Their alien smell fills my nose." The clan leader scrunched his nose at us mockingly, and he shared a sneer and a laugh with Tsu'tey. I grumbled something under my breath. Neytiri stood her ground. "Hey, what's he saying?" Jake asked Neytiri. "My father is deciding whether to kill you." Neytiri replied gently. That's one way to summarize it... "Your father." Jake grumbled. "It's nice to meet you, sir—" Jake stepped forward, reaching out to shake the Eytukan's hand. I grabbed him by the shoulder, yanking him back as a bunch of natives hissed at him, aiming their spears at us. "Don't be a goddamn idiot, these aren't humans!" I hissed in his ear. Jake muttered an apology under his breath. "Step back!" At the top of the staircase stood the Mo'at, her outfit exquisite and a look of authoritative friendliness on her face. "I will look at these aliens." Mo'at made her way down the stairs, and I bowed respectfully. Jake stared at me, confused. "That is Mother. She is Tsahik; the one who interprets the will of Eywa." Neytiri told Jake as she made her way towards us. I resumed my regular standing position, and Mo'at moved towards me. "Who's Eywa?" Jake questioned. I eyerolled just as Mo'at approached me. Mo'at examined my tswin and tail, and then pulled out a thorn from her headdress and striked my forearm a bit, causing a bit of blood to well up. I flinched but said nothing. Mo'at nodded at me as she tasted the blood, before moving onto Jake. She examined his tswin and tail as well.
"What are you called?" Mo'at inquired in a heavily accented voice. "Jake Sully." Jake replied, and Mo'at looked towards me. "Rei Willows." Mo'at struck Jake with the thorn and tasted his blood, causing him to hiss slightly in pain. Karma, bitch. I thought, trying not to smirk. "Why did you come to us?" Mo'at went on, looking towards us. Neytiri moved behind Mo'at, examining us curiously. "We came to learn." Jake replied. "We have tried to teach other Sky People. It is hard to fill a cup which is already full." Mo'at said submissively. "Our cups are empty. Especially his." I reasoned, nodding towards Jake, who eyerolled. "Trust me, just ask Dr. Augus-" I paused. Mo'at arched a brow. "Grace. He's no scientist." I corrected myself. Jake nodded in agreement at that. "What are you?" She asked Jake. Jake hesitated, before replying, "I was a Marine. A, uh," Jake stumbled over his words, shooting a nervous glance at me. I nodded slightly, and he went on. "A warrior. Of the... Jarhead Clan." I stifled a giggle. "And you?" Mo'at turned to me. "I am also a warrior," I replied, "Just with my mind and words." Mo'at looked slightly impressed. "Warriors! I could kill them easily!" I hissed, taking a defensive stance. Jake stepped back in alarm. Other natives yipped with him in agreement. "NO ONE TOUCHES HIM!" I screamed in heated Na'vi, standing in front of Jake protectively. Tsu'Tey snarled at me angrily, and I hissed back. Neytiri looked a bit impressed at my sudden mood change. "No! These are the first warrior dreamwalkers we have seen. We need to learn more about them." Eytukan ordered. Tsu'Tey grumbled something under his breath and stepped back.
I returned to my normal stance, but kept a hand on my dagger just in case. "My daughter. You will teach him our way, to speak and walk as we do." Mo'at ordered Neytiri. Neytiri began to complain. "Why me? That's not fair! I only--" She started, but she was interrupted by Mo'at. "It is decided! Tsu'Tey, you will teach Reiwillows." She went on. Tsu'Tey's eyes widened, and then narrowed into a glare, turning to me. I resisted the urge to flip him off, my ear and tail flicking in annoyance. Neytiri snarled in annoyance. "It has been decided. My daughter will teach you our ways. Learn well, Jakesully. Then we will see if your insanity can be cured." Most likely not, I thought to myself. "And you, Reiwillows," I straightened my posture a bit. "You will be taught by Tsu'Tey. Your temper will be taught to stay in control." Tsu'Tey sneered, and my glare hardened. Tsu'Tey's tail twitched a bit. He approached me, grabbed my wrist harshly, and yanked me towards the stairs and up. I snarled and wrestled out of his grasp. Tsu'Tey shot a look at me, and I replied, "I can walk on my own." Tsu'Tey scoffed and continued upwards, before motioning me to a group of Na'vi women. "Change out of your... rags." Tsu'Tey spat. I hissed before making my way to the women. One of them, the kindest-looking of them all, examined my figure, and pointed to a particular loincloth. "This one will suit you well." She explained, and I nodded. I hummed to myself, examining it. Not bad, I thought, moving into a separate spot. I quickly changed and I heard a wolf-whistle. I whipped my head around, ready to fight whoever the hell decided to mess with me, only to come face-to-face with Jake, who was now shirtless and wearing a loincloth around his lower area. I smacked him with my tail. "Hey-!" But he was interrupted by Tsu'Tey, who grabbed my wrist yet again and pulled me away. Jake sent me a confused glance and I just shrugged, sending him a two-fingered salute and grinning before I was yanked around a corner and out of sight.
