Lena wakes up to a chirping song bird on her pillow. She sits up, rubbing her eyes and carefully picks the bird up, walking over to the window and gently allowing the bird to jump off onto a near tree branch. She yawns her blond hair falling behind her shoulders and she walks into her bathroom to brush her teeth.
She walks out again dressed in a plain murky green turtleneck and a long black skirt. Granted she looked ghastly but after all she did not need and more attention at school. She walks down the stairs and into the kitchen where her sister is seated with her Bapi. "Morning Kar, Bapi!" she sighs and sits, pouring herself some orange juice and cereal. Bapi mutters something in Greek and Karisa nods at her.
"Are you excited Lena?! You get to go to Hogwarts for another year! I'm sooooo jealous!!" Karisa sulks and Lena stiffens laughter. "You get to go to school here in Greece! Mom is even coming to see Bapi and Yiayia and you of course!" Karisa nods but frowns, "You will write wont you?" she asks and Lena nods.
"Of course!" she says and finishes her breakfast. "I better get Yiayia, we have to be at the airport soon if I'm going to make the train..." she adds and walks over to Bapi. "Antio Bapi, ta léme ta Christoúgenna!" she says and kisses his wrinkly cheek. He smiles and nods muttering something in Greek again.
She walks up the stairs again and to Yiayia's room, "Yiayia? Time to go!" Her grandmother hurries out of the room, "Pame, pame!" she pushes. "I'll be with you in a second, I have to get something..." Lena says and Yiayia nods. Lena runs into her room and checks her hair, tying her blond waves into a high ponytail.
She grabs some books from her desk and shoves them into her bag. She bends down and takes a small velvet box from under her bed, also carefully placing it into her bag. She runs out after Yiayia and joins her in the car.
Soon they arrive at the airport, "O Léna! Parakaló grápste mas!" Yiayia pleads giving her a tight hug. "Yiayia, English please?" she replies and Yiayia nods, "Vight, sorry, please vemember to vite to me and Bapi!" Lena nods and hugs her tighter, "Of course Yiayia! But...I really have to go...I will miss the flight..." she starts but Yiayia cuts her off. "Oh yes! Off you go!" Yiayia laughs pushing her into the flight gate, "Antío omorfiá!" she calls and Lena disappears into the crowds of people.
She checks her ticket and finds her seat next to a boy. He looks to be about 19, just a few years older than her, he smiles as she sits. "Hello! I'm Eric, who are you?" the boy asks and Lena rolls her eyes. "Uh...Lena..." she answers and he nods, his eyes searching her body. She shifts uncomfortably for the whole flight as he watches her, inching closer every 3 minutes.
Finally the flight is over, she hops to her feet and hurries off the plane. She collects her trunk and other bags and makes her way to a taxi outside. "Hello, where will I be taking you today?" the taximan asks. "Kings Cross Station please!" Lena replies with a friendly smile, and the shortest route, I'm late for my train."
The man nods and gets her quickly to the train station. "16 pounds m'lady!" the taximan asks and she nods taking out her muggle money. She hands it to him and takes her things to the platform. She hurries through the many parents and just makes it onto the train in time.
She searches the train for Lily, Marlene and Alice but the only compartment that isn't full is the marauder's. She mentally slaps herself, opening the door, "Uh...hi..." she says and Sirius smiles. "Hello Lena!" Remus greets and everyone waves. "Could I uh...sit here?" she asks and they nod.
After a boring and slightly painful train ride, Lena finally get some alone time. The feast was also boring and she didn't feel like going to Sirius' party at the lake. She lays in her bed, not feeling tired either. Why can't I sleep?! Ahhhh! She gives up and decides to paint the grounds.
She slips into a thin, silken nightdress and grabs her paints, portable easel and a blank canvas sheet. She walks down to the quidditch pitch, setting up everything in the middle of the pitch. She was going to paint the sky. It had a bewitching quality tonight, how? She could not guess but she knew that it would make a beautiful present for Karisa.
She starts to sketch the stars, horizon and milky clouds that scatter the sea like sky. She mixes some paint and starts to swirl it around the canvas. After she is finishes the painting stands out amongst the others of the Gryffindor girls dorm. She waits another 30 minutes to show Lily and Marlene her new work but they don't come.
She ends up falling asleep on the lounge by the fire, curled up from the cold.
