Eve and Lily stood in the silence. Tears burning from both of their eyes. Eve had just attacked her best friend without even realizing it.

"You.. you better take that back." Lily pushed through her clenched jaw.

"Or what? You'll leave me behind again?" Eve pushed herself up enough to sit and lean against the wall.

"Yes, I will. I'm understanding why your Dad stepped out, because you're selfish. You're willing to attack and hurt anybody as long as you get to be happy right?"

"Seriously? You all chose to leave in the first place." Eve couldn't find the strength to look up at Lily. Lily, on the other hand, couldn't take her gaze off of Eve.

"We can only be pushed so far. Maybe take into consideration everything that everyone has done for you. If you don't want to lose me... then you need to figure out who your friends really are." Finally able to tear her eyes away. She walked back out the door.

"Where are you going?" Eve yelled.

"Somewhere I can at least feel appreciated. Not hated for existing!" Lily screamed back, the blood curdling scream that could break your eardrums if it had just a tad bit more power.

"Fine! Leave!" Eve tried to scream back but the words came out, more as a cry then scream. A breathless cry.

---

Hours had passed. Eve had no idea where Lily had gone and she couldn't figure out if her friend was right, or okay for that matter. She started worrying because no fight with her would ever last this long. She looked at her phone and decided to call. She figured she wouldn't answer but hearing her voice was something she needed more then she was willing to know.

"Heyo, this is Lily. Either you're not important enough to answer or I'm being lazy. Either way, leave a message and I'll decide later to get back to you!" The cheery voice lied to the caller.

"Lily... It's me. I'm sorry for making you feel like I hate you. I never wanted to make you feel like that." She paused, then winced at the still growing pain. "Just let me know you're okay. I need to know you're okay. I love you." She sighed before hanging up. Unwilling to stay and suffer any longer she stood up and walked out of the apartment. She didn't know where she was going but she wasn't staying and doing nothing. Every time she ran in one direction she was faced with stronger pains, in any other direction, she was faced with ease and relief.

"Owen must be this way.. If I'm in pain... maybe I'm hurting him by trying to get closer?" She grabbed her chest and contemplated what she would do. Finding her brother was the most important thing she ever wanted but putting him in pain was not the way to do it. Not in her eyes anyways. She turned with tears burning in her eyes.

"Woah, are you okay?" A woman asked almost walking into her.

"Y-yes, sorry. I just... had a fight with my best friend and I don't know where she went. She's not answering her phone." She scrambled to figure out something to tell her but her quick thinking was faster then she realized.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe go to her house. She'll have to be home at some point if she's not there right now, right?" She smiled and took a step back.

"I guess you have a point. Thanks. Have a good day." She smiled fighting the pain that only continued to grow. Then she figured, if the pain is growing, Owen must be coming towards her.

Before the other woman could respond, Eve ran, as fast as she could manage without giving away her vampire abilities and did not look back. The second she knew no one was around, she ran as fast as she possibly could till she was outside of her apartment building
