"I'm really sorry about how I treated your mom Jacey." I looked down at my feet as Jace stormed in my house.
"I don't know if I should be angry with you, or if I should thank you." She finally laughed.
"I figured angry but I'd be happy with thanks?" I asked more then stated.
"She apologized to me after she came and talked to you.. She also told me about how she thinks you're a good person and that she'd be happy to welcome you to the family now." She smirked walking towards me.
"Oh, would she? Because that's not the impression she gave me when she came and talked to me." I smirked as I closed the door and walked to her.
"What impression did she give you?"
"Don't worry about it. Obviously things are all sorted now. I am sorry for just barging in and yelling at her like that. I don't want you to think I'd just disrespect you and your family like that-"
"Will you just shut up?" She laughed as she grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me down to meet her gaze.
"I gladly will." I whispered as I closed my eyes and let my lips meet hers. I knew my father didn't want us together but.. I couldn't stand the idea of not having her in my life. I want her to "Marry me."
"What?" She pulled back and looked at me.
"What?" I looked down at her.
"You just asked.. didn't you just ask me something?" She tried to hide the smile creeping on her face.
"Did I?"
"You said marry me. Or at least I thought you did.." She looked at me confused. My eyes widened.
"I said that out loud?"
"So you did say it!" She smirked and pointed at me.
"Nope, didn't happen." I shook my head.
"What?" She began to laugh.
"I had a plan on when I wanted to ask you so I did not just ask you right now. It did not happen, forget I said anything-"
"Yes." She said abruptly.
"Say again?" I felt myself fold as I looked at her.
"I want to marry you."
-
"Yes dad, I'm on my way to go and clean up this mess.. No, I don't think you'll need to be here.." I spoke on the phone sheepishly. He knew I was still seeing Jace but he didn't act angry about it.
"Yes sir. I'll let you know." I said finally after our conversation ended. I was to take over the business he started when I was a child. Music to be specific. I was going to meet with Andrew and we would be going over paper work.
"What is that?" Andrew asked walking in looking out the window.
"What?" I walked over and saw a cloud of smoke, the same cloud of smoke that had been flying for the last two days. "That's been burning for a few days."
"Hmm, must be a fire. A control burn perhaps?" He asked keeping his eyes fixed. My eyes traveled to the bottom of the smoke.
"No, that's too close to town in order for it to be a control burn. I think someone's house is on fire."
"Do you want to go watch it burn to the ground and be your sadistic self?" Andrew smirked to me.
"While it does sound like a pleasurable activity, we need to get these papers done." I sighed and turned around.
