Chapter 4: Observing

Chapter 4 is here~ I don't own cardfight vangaurd at all but I don't care so let the chapter start!

"Hey Onii-San why's your arm bandaged?"

The brunette's attention was grabbed by Kamui's question, the blue haired boy was silent for a second before smiling slightly.

"Ah I bandaged my arm as I did my wrist because it was hard to make the bandages stay on my wrist."

Aichi laughed lightly, however the black haired boy frowned slightly.

"Wasn't it your other arm that your wrist was sore?"

The blue haired boy shook his head.

"No, it was this arm"

The brunette felt slightly frustrated with Aichi, the lie was simple itself yet it was a lie nether the less.

"Ah I see, sorry"

The black haired boy laughed as he scratched his head. The brunette felt a slight tap on his shoulder and looked towards the blond who was trying to catch his attention.

"What?"

The brunette sighed, then he noticed that the blond didn't have his usual mischievous grin on his face.

"Kai, can you tell me what's up? It seems odd to me how you keep staring at Aichi"

Kai glanced back towards the blue haired boy before returning his gaze to his blond friend.

"Something's off about him..."

"Aichi? I don't see anything odd though.... The person who seems off to me is you Kai"

The blond replied, as he looked over towards Aichi' trying to see for himself if he could pick out any signs of strangeness within the boy.

"......."

The brunette was quiet as he watched Miwa trying to think, he guessed that the blond was genuinely trying to see something different about the boy.

"He does seem really happy lately"

The brunette nodded in agreement, glad that at least the blond had picked up on that.

"Yeah"

"But isn't that a good thing though?"

The brunette looked over and examined the emotion within Aichi's sapphire eyes, he could see a slight gleam of happiness but a small blanket of unknown emotions were present underneath the outward happiness.

"Yeah but I don't think it's all real"

Miwa frowned at the brunette's answer.

"Kai, just because Aichi is openly happy, doesn't mean there's anything wrong with him"

The brunette felt slightly angry that his closest friend didn't understand, however he knew that it wasn't the blond's fault, yet he couldn't help but feel slightly angry.

"Tch whatever"

"Kai...."

The blond sighed before looking over towards the person who was currently taking up a lot of the brunette's thoughts.

"Hey Aichi!"

The boy looked up from talking with his friend at the sound of his name.

"Yeah?"

The blue haired boy tilted his head in confusion before walking over towards the blond and brunette.

"Wanna come go over to a new card shop with me and Kai?"

The blond asked, causing the brunette to give him a quick glare. Interest and excitement flashed swiftly within the smaller boy's eyes before a neutral expression swept over his sapphire eyes.

"Ah sorry I've got to do something after school tomorrow...."

The smaller boy replied as his gaze lowered towards the ground, a thin frown found its way upon the brunette's face.

"Aww come on bud, can't you please go with us?"

The blond smiled mischievously as he put his hands on both of Aichi's shoulders.

"Ah sorry but I really can't"

The smaller boy whispered, Miwa frowned slightly before nodding in understanding.

"I see... Well anyway take care of yourself then"

The blond said as the smaller boy bowed slightly before going back to Kamui.

"Well Kai I admit he was a little odd but it's understandable that he'd be sad that he couldn't go"

The blond sighed as he turned towards the brunette.

"Tch... Anyway why did you do that?"

Kai asked, a little annoyed that his friend had tried to make plans for him.

"Well I figured that if you guys spent some time together, you'd both become closer"

Miwa said with a shrug.

"Idiot! Why would I want that?"

The brunette quietly hissed, so as to not alert anyone else in the shop. The blond just rolled his eyes and gave the brunette a smirk.

"Kai, why don't you find out for yourself?"

The brunette looked at his odd friend in confusion, not at all understanding what the blond was trying to imply.

"You're so odd..."

The brunette sighed as he rubbed his temples, Miwa smiled sadly at the clueless brunette.

"How can you be so smart yet so dumb Kai?"

The blond laughed, earning him a sharp glare.

"Whatever...."

The brunette sighed as he looked over in Aichi's direction sadly, the small boy just happened to look over towards him at the same time and jump slightly when jade made contact with sapphire.

The brunette didn't turn his gaze away like the younger boy did, instead he watched the uneasy movements of the blue haired boy as he chatted about cardfight strategies with the black haired boy.

Then the brunette suddenly remembered something, there was a person with a perfect memory within the store.

He left the blond and walked over towards the lavender haired girl who was looking after the shop.

"What do you want?"

Misaki asked as she watched the brunette approach her.

"I have a question to ask, is the arm that's bandaged the same arm that Aichi had a sore wrist yesterday?"

The lavender haired girl frowned at the odd question but shook her head.

"No, it's not...."

The brunette didn't know how to feel after being proved that his thoughts were correct.

"So why did Aichi lie?...."

The brunette whispered, half to himself.

Misaki looked over towards the cheery blue haired boy and frowned slightly at how the honest boy had lied.

"Well thanks for answering my question"

Kai sighed as he turned away from the girl, who nodded slightly, confused as to how the usually aloof teen was acting.

Kai: I wonder what Miwa was trying to imply...

Me: hehe poor Kai is so lost

Kai: it's not my fault....

Me: I know~

Kai: ....
