Ellie~

Zach and I go a long way back. He had a crush on me since middle school.

Though he was known as the prince charming with his perfect golden-brown hair and green eyes in high school, but he was never my type.

My chocolate brown eyes and black hair with gold streaks seem nothing special to me. I wondered what made him ask me out every weekend and I kept denying.

Then, one summer morning, he confessed his feelings for me in front of the whole school. I couldn't make a joke of him in front of the whole school, he was my best friend.

"Earth to Ellie!!!" Claire splashed water at me.

"Er, sorry I was thinking" I apologized.

"Hey, what do you think about my new hair color?" Bella asked.

"It's awesome" I said sarcastically.

She changed the blonde hue of her hair each week, it never felt much different though.

The rest of my time in the boat passed listening to Bella's chattering.
They got out and Simon paid the sailor.

"Now, don't say we have to walk on foot again!" Claire beemed.

"You guessed right, I suppose, let's get on with it." Simon gave a laugh. And ruffled Claire's red hair.

She pouted at him.

Simon and Claire were the cutest couple I had ever come across. They never seem to be able to stay without each other.

Simon is well above six foot tall and is built like an ox. Arrow straight black hair with eyes the shade of smoke.

While Claire, she's small with hazel eyes too big for her face, her hair a brilliant shade of red.

"Follow me," Simon demanded, taking the lead.

We all followed him into darkness.

We all held our own flashlights but still Zach managed to trip several times.

"I'm scared" Bella whispered in my ear.

"Don't worry it should be close" Simon said.

"Why did you bring us here at this time, I mean we could depart early in the morning and arrive till sunset huh" I was enraged, still my voice betrayed any sign of anger.

Claire rolled her eyes.

"Pardon but the only bus that drives here departs at six" Simon explained.

After a few minutes of silence, I heard a howl, and by the expression of my gang, they heard it too.

Though it sounded afar, we were still horrified.

"I curse ever agreeing to come here" Bella sobbed.

I took her hand to calm her down but the sound came again followed by rustling of leaves.

The rustle soon turned to howling winds and then in a moment it started raining heavily.

"I can smell a storm coming," Zach said in a spooky tone.

"I can't take this anymore" Bella sobbed and loosening my grip on her, I let her go.

Pulling two steps backwards she shouted saying, "I hate you Simon!".

Before anyone could say anything something grabbed Bella's ankle and pulled her into the woods.

I started running after her but Zach grabbed my arm.

"Stop!" He shouted.

"Are you crazy? How can I stop Bella's in the woods!" I sobbed.

"No wait look" Zach pointed towards the place where Bella was dragged. I could see a silhouette.

Behind us Claire and Simon were arguing over the same thing.

"It's all my fault" Simon whimpered.

"What the hell on earth are you doing here?" Someone screamed. It sounded like the voice of an old man.

Simon turned his head towards the direction of the voice and saw an old man holding a walking stick in one hand and a lantern in the other.

The man didn't seem to demand an explanation and looked towards us, somewhat, sadly.

"Follow me children, this place is dangerous" He said in a gravely old voice.

"But-" I was cut off by Zach lifting me onto his shoulder. I shouted at him, punched his back but he didn't even budge.

"I'm scared" Claire wrapped her finger around Simon's.

"Don't worry I'm here."
