Chapter 18: Betrayal

Ellie's PoV

I wanted to cry. This shit was too much to take. My friends are dead, I'm on my death bed and my boyfriend has betrayed me.

"Why?" My voice shook.

How can he murder his own friends?

"Well I don't really like explanations but I'll give you this one" He said baring his teeth at me.

Wait. Are those fangs?

My eyes widened.

"Don't need to freak out, I'm not gonna eat you.. well.. not just yet" he smirked.

"What..why..how.." were all that escaped my lips, I was all tears now.

"What? Yeah I'm a vampire and yeah I'm gonna rule over these ghosts." he laughed then continued "ok just because I hate you the most I'm gonna tell you the whole story, I visited this town last month, sadly I was chased by some stupid demons, this beautiful young lady here" he said gesturing towards Lara "is the one who saved my life but at one cost... she had to turn me to a semi-vamp just so I could survive" he finished.

"Why did you bring us here?" I shrieked.

"Well... I had to do 5 sacrifices to get well..." he thought for a while then replied "to get control of all these ghosts. I have some under control but after killing you, I'll have hundreds" he grinned.

Asswhole.

"What would you get from this?" I yelled at him, "have you lost your mind?"

"Shut up" he snapped.

I didn't. "What's taking you so long? Kill me already!"

"For hell's sake! We were together for months and you never even let me kiss you once! Do you think I'll let you die so easily?" He exclaimed.

"So, you're gonna voliate me?"

"Oh no, that's so old fashioned, I'm gonna torture you babe" he said.

"Come on just end it I'm fed up of her bickering" it was Lara who spoke this time.

"But babe I wanna have some fun" he protested.

I rolled my eyes.

"I wanna talk to you alone" Lara snapped and walked away from the altar, Zach followed like a puppy.

After what felt like 5 minutes the candles snapped out of life.

Oh no.

Not again and not now please, I prayed. Cold air rushed against my skin. The temperature droped rapidly. I was starting to shiver while the chains I was tied to started rattling.

Dread shot through my body accompanied by sheer agony.

"Please" I begged.

The chains broke apart. The candles flew back to life. I sat up shocked and surprised. Without thinking what happened, I jumped down the altar and broke into a run towards a ragged door.

"Not so fast" I heard Lara call from afar.

A moment's distraction was all it needed and I slammed hard against Zach's chest.

"Did you forget that you can't out run a vampire?" He smirked.

The next thing I did might have been the most stupid action of the year but anyways, I punched Zach in the face or so I thought because in a moment my fist was blocked by his palm.

He chuckled.

With all my strength, I gave him a kick right in the middle and bolted towards the door.

All went to no awail though. Right when I reached the door his hand caught my wrist and he pulled me towards him.

"Bitch stop! I have a whole army out there you can't escape" he slapped me.

In a blur Zach was on ground with a winged figure punching him recklessly.

Relief washed over me "Ash" his name escaped my lips but before I could walk to him somehing sharp plunged into my back.
