Mallory took one last look at her outift. She was wearing fishnet tight under black shorts with a black Nirvana t-shirt and a black and yellow flannel. She also checked the laces on her black Converse before leaving her bedroom.

"Hurry up." Mallory called downstairs to her mother.  "I don't want to be late."

Peter had already gone to work (Mallory did not realise this). After coming back from the pool, he got a rent car.

"I'm not taking you to school." Indigo told her daughter as she stood in front of the downstairs mirror putting in her earrings.

"Is Dad taking me then?" Mallory questioned.

"You're father's already at work." The woman answered.

"How am I getting to school then?" The girl asked.

"Rodrick's taking you." Indigo replied. "Susan and I spoke yesterday and she was going to ask him to take you."

"You've got to be kidding me." Mallory sighed.

"This will be a great chance to get to know him." Indigo told her daughter.

"No Mum." Mallory instructed her. "I don't even get why i'm going to school today anyway, it's the last day before summer."

"So what?" Indigo asked. "You can make friends ready for when you go back. ."

"Everyone's going to be saying goodbye to their friends and I'll be alone." Mallory groaned.

A car horn was heard outside.

"That must be Rodrick." Indigo told Mallory. When Mallory didn't move she added, "You don't want to be late."

Mallory grabbed her bag and left. Outside she saw a white van with the words "Löded Diper" on the front. She realised that it must be his band name.

"Get in England." He instructed her.

"Twat." The brunette mumbled as she opened the door.

"What was that?" Rodrick questioned.

"I didn't say anything." She answered.

"Yes you did." Rodrick pressed on for information.

"Piss off." Mallory told him.

"Someone's in a bad mood." The boy mumbled.

"Yeah I am." Mallory agreed. "D'ya wanna why?"

Rodrick nodded his head slowly. Mallory was struggling to stay still in her seat due to Rodrick's reckless driving.

"I'm in a bad mood because I have to go to school on the last day." She explained. "Everyone will be saying goodbye to their friends and i'll be standing alone like a muppet."

"Yeah you are." Rodrick chuckled.

Mallory sat back up. "Thanks for that." She scoffed.

"Band practice tonight." Rodrick told her.

"I'm not in the band." She disagreed. "You haven't heard me play and I haven't heard you play."

"We're desperate for someone Mallory." Rodrick admitted. "We really need you."

Mallory thought for a few moments.

"Fine." She sighed. "I'm in."

"You're in." Rodrick whispered.

"I'm in." She repeated.

Rodrick put his hand up to the side. Mallory just looked at it.

"Put your hand back on the wheel so we actually make it to band practice."Mallory told him.

"Oh right, sorry." Rodrick apologised.

"I don't want to die." Mallory rolled her eyes. "At least, not in a car accident with you."

"I'm offended that you wouldn't want to die with me." Rodrick fake being sad.

"Do you blame me though?" Mallory asked.
