The two teens got to the hospital in no time.
Mallory hopped out of the van and ran towards the entrance, Rodrick was close behind her. They were getting soaked by the rain.

"How can I help you?" The receptionist asked when they got inside.

"My mum, she was hit, I just saw it on the news." Mallory panted.

"We're looking for Indigo Hampton." Rodrick informed the woman. "Indigo's her mother."

"Are you her boyfriend?" The woman questions gesturing to Mallory.

"Umm yeah lets go with that." Rodrick answered.

"Indigo's in room three twenty." The receptionist told them. "It's on the second floor and to the left."

Mallory started running to the lift.

"Thank you." Rodrick nodded at the woman before following Mallory.

Mallory repeated pressed the button for the lift. When it finally came down a few doctors were standing in it. They looked at Mallory's worried face and immediately left it. Mallory and Rodrick got in.

"Mum, Mum." Mallory called once they got onto the third floor.

"That door there." Rodrick pointed at the wooden door that had a silver plaque with '320' written on it.

Mallory burst in, a nurse was writing something on a paper that was on top of a clipboard.

"I'm sorry but you'll have to wait outside." The nurse apologised.

"But she's my mum." Mallory sobbed.

"We were about to take her to the X-ray department." The nurse informed them. "If we don't, it could be fatal especially if there's a bone near her heart that's broken. go wait downstairs and then i'll get you when we're finished, ok darling?"

Mallory stormed out of the room, she trudged through the corridors. She threw some paper's on the ground before getting in the lift again. Rodrick didn't say anything, he didn't know what to say. Mallory didn't stop in the waiting area, instead she went straight outside.

"Mallory stop." Rodrick called after her.

Mallory stopped and turned to face him, the rain was heavier than before.

"I know how awful this is but you can't just leave." He told her. "You're mom's going to need you when she wakes up. The doctors know what they're doing, she'll be okay."

"You don't know how awful this is." Mallory scowled at him. "You don't know how it feels to have to tell yourself that you're mother might die. You don't know how it feels to know that you're father has no idea what's going on."

"You're right." Rodrick sighed. "I don't, but I am here. I will wait by your side all night if I have to. Mallory, you don't know how much you mean to me."

"Why though?" Mallory questioned. "I'm a mess, you have no idea what i've been through. What happened in England. I try to be open, I try to forget it but I can't."

"Mallory your past-." Rodrick started.

"Doesn't define me?" She snapped. "I know but you don't know what it's like to always be in a state of fear that it will happen again. You don't know anything apart from what I tell you. I hardly tell you anything. Why do you fucking care?"

"I don't care how much you tell me." Rodrick shouted at her. "I like you, I really like you."

"I thought you liked Heather." Mallory scoffed.

"She's cool and pretty and that but Mallory, I've liked you since I first saw you." Rodrick admitted.

"You're just saying that because I'm upset." The girl disagreed. "You don't mean any-."

Rodrick cut her off by kissing her. He grabbed the side of her face and pressed his lips against hers. They were both soaked by the rain so being pressed together heated them up.

"I meant every fucking word I said Mallory." Rodrick whispered.
