Alexia and Robin had been dating for like forever. They were high school sweethearts and everybody knew them as a couple. You always saw Alexia and Robin. Not Alexia. Not Robin. Alexia and Robin.
Robin wanted to propose. He really did. And he was about to. But something really stupid broke them apart.
Since they moved to Manchester, they knew something was wrong. In order to save that little something they'd created, no one said anything as if they'd never noticed.
Neither of them actually knew what the fault was.
The trust; broken.
The love; lost.
The passion; like it never happen.
The lust; nothing like the first time.
Maybe they were just tired of each other.
That's a very reasonable pretext of way Alexia had acted so trivially.
Jamie was a family friend and when he came to visit in Manchester, she just lost it.
Everything.
It was inside her; she wanted to break free.
Of course a little alcohol always helps, but this was mostly self-determined.

It's been 6 years since she told him.
The moment she revealed Jamie and her were more than friends, at least for once, Robin went crazy.
He left and a week later Alexia heard he'd found a new girlfriend.
A replacement.
She decided to continue living, she even found herself a boyfriend.
But long time after that, she realized she still wasn't over Robin.
It could be his charming smile.
His beautiful shaped nose.
Or maybe those promising eyes with a look full of thirst.
But something was keeping her for sure.
Alexia looked at her phone. She was about to call Robin. She was ready.
She clicked the name and started calling. After a few rings she hung up.
Was she really ready to do that? What if he's still angry? He must be...
She called again. That time she let in ring until she heard a familiar but yet barely remembered voice answering.
"Robin Van Persie here, how may I help you?"
Alexia took a deep breath. Tears were ready to begin their race underneath her green eyes.
"Hi Robin. Um, it's Alexia."
Alexia had to double check if he'd hung up after that. The silence on the phone was terrifying.
"Alexia? No, it cannot be."
"Yes, Alexia. You must remember me, we lived together six years ago."
She said and smiled. She could even hear Robin smiling too.
"Hi! How have you been? We've really lost contact, that's a shame."
His voice was delusively nice and he was trying to fake the whole akwardness of the situation. You could hear that.
"Well, I've been good thank you. What about you?"
She knew she'll hear everything she didn't want to.
"Yeah yeah me too. I... I got married. And now I have two little angels as well."
Let the race begin. Little tears were struggling to surpass each other but Alexia didn't like that.
"Really? N-nice to hear. I'm happy for you."
Her voice was trembling.
"Yeah..."
"I guess that's all. I just wanted to know how you are and, now I do."
She wanted to end this the soonest.
"I-I'm glad you're fine too Alexia. I'll save your number, we'll keep in touch, okay?"
"Sure." She murmured and hung up.
It hurt.
A lot.
