It was the day of your 2-year anniversary with your boyfriend, Marco Reus. Unfortunately though, his team, Borussia Dortmund, had a game that day, against Eintracht Frankfurt.
"Bye babe, see you at the stadium." He said while picking up his backpack.
"Bye... I love you." You said but he was already too far to hear you.
You knew you'd miss him so much; you had other plans for this day. But maybe fate was planning something else.
You went out for a walk with your best friend and then you came back home to get ready for the match. You wore Marco's Dortmund jersey and casually jeans. You decided to wear your hair in a ponytail, mainly because it was kinda hot and it matched with your outfit.
You drove all the way to the stadium and went inside. You sat in your seat and thank God you'd arrived before the game had started, otherwise you wouldn't find one.
The game finally started a few moments later and the first half passed very quickly, with no goal for any of the teams.
Then, the second half started with many good chances for Dortmund. Marco could score a couple of times but he was unlucky, or the goalkeeper was in a good position.
After almost 10 minutes, Aubameyang passed to Reus and he just kicked the ball to the goal. Trapp didn't expect that move from your boyfriend, and he just let him score.
The whole Signal Iduna Park was on fire. Everybody was celebrating and cheering for their team. Seeing Marco scoring, you got up and smiled. You knew he really wanted to score. Scoring made him complete.
He didn't celebrate and you started getting worried. Could he be injured? He bent to grab something from inside his sock and everyone started getting anxious.
Suddenly, he pulled a really small box from there and the referee stopped the game. He went to take a microphone and started talking.
"Hey everyone... Thank you for your support. It means so much. Sorry if you're bothered and want to watch the rest of the game; I know I would! But I just want to say something really really important... Maybe not for you but it sure is for me! May, could you please come down here a little bit?" You heard him saying.
What was that for? Everybody was now looking at you and they were making place for you to go down.
You finally did, after a long time of thinking and being frozen.
When you were close enough to Marco, he started talking again.
"So... For any of you who don't know, May is my girlfriend for 2 years now. Actually, for exactly 2 years! Today is our anniversary and I wanted it to be special, because I feel ready. I feel ready to call you my wife every morning when you wake up and I feel ready to hear you calling me husband when you're introducing me to your friends. I feel ready to have beautiful kids with you and have a family. I feel ready to even give up football for you... No wait I'd never do that! I feel ready to hear your problems and deal with them as a married couple. I feel ready... But I think everyone knows that feeling ready myself doesn't make any difference unless you are ready too. So, right here, right now, May, will you marry me?"
You were shocked. You didn't expect that at all! He was actually asking you to be his wife! In front of every single fan who was watching the game!
You didn't say anything because it all seemed surreal; like you were just watching, not participating! Thankfully, Marco broke that awkward moment.
"Oh no, no, don't say anything yet! I forgot to kneel" He said while doing that. "Now we're fine. Will you marry me May?"
This time you were ready.
"Yes Marco!" You said and he put you the amazing ring which was inside the mystery box.
After that, he got up and hugged you. Everybody was now clapping.
"You will be the best wife." He whispered inside your ear while hugging you.
"And you will be the best husband." You whispered too.
