"So, you enjoyed the Battle Restaurant even though you had to fight for food?" I asked.

"Oh, my gosh, for the hundredth time, yes, Era," Kat answered, "How many times do I have to tell you?"

I glanced at my friend with a cheeky grin.

"Just making sure," I said, "Because before, you were complaining that you had to fight for your food."

"Well, it was worth it. The food tasted amazing in the end." Kat said.

That's something I can't object to.

Kat and I left Grandisle City behind and started walking down a dirt road to the East of the city, not caring where we ended up.

"So, what do you want to do now?" Kat suddenly asked, "Now that our bellies are full, I'm ready to do something fun and invigorating!"

I chuckled and pulled out my phone.

"Hmm, let's see..." I said, scrolling through the different events, "Oh! The Annual Battle Tendency Tournament is today!"

"The... what...?" Kat asked.

I chuckled and showed my friend the flyer. I couldn't help but smile when Angel and Libby leaned in to see the flyer.

"The Annual Battle Tendency Tournament of Gladiolus City. It's a live tournament that's broadcasted across the Ezonia region. Any and every trainer can enter. It's like any Pokémon tournament; I would assume," I explained, "Looks like this year, it'll be a double battle for the finals. I always wanted to enter, but I was too young."

"Well, now you can!" Kat said, "It sounds fun! Let's do it!"

I smiled and nodded. I took out Jet's Pokéball and let him out. Jet looked up and me and greeted me with a friendly cry. Kat did the same and let out her Goodra and Beautifly. I took out my Pokédex and scanned the little Pokémon.

"Beautifly, the Butterfly Pokémon. When flower fields bloom, it flits around, collecting pollen. Despite its appearance, it has an aggressive nature. It stabs prey with its long, narrow mouth to drain the prey's fluids."

Well, every rose has its thorns...

"You haven't met my Beautifly yet, right, Eragona?" Kat asked.

"No, I have not," I said, walking up to the fluttering Pokémon, "It's nice to meet you, Beautifly."

The Butterfly Pokémon made a friendly cry as it flew around my head.

"Look at that. She already likes you!" Kat said.

I chuckled and playfully swatted away the adorable Bug-type. I then proceeded to show the Pokémon the tournament's flyer on my phone.

"Hope you guys are ready to battle because we're entering the Battle Tendency Tournament!" I said, "A tournament where any and every trainer could enter. If we make it to the finals, we might have a chance to fight together. What do you say?"

The five Pokémon all let out cheerful cries. I smiled at Kat, and my friend returned the gesture.

"Come on, let's go!" I said, returning Jet to his Pokéball.

Kat eventually did the same to her Pokémon. Nodding to each other, we sprinted along the dirt road to Gladiolus City.

The city where I want to move to...

Once we arrived at Gladiolus City, the city was bursting with life and color. Banners and flags were everywhere in honor of the tournament. Pokémon from many different regions across the world were everywhere.
