Zabuza's smirk twisted into a scowl as his clone dispersed into mist. The water prison was gone, and Kakashi was free—standing tall, soaked but focused. The Sharingan in his left eye flared like a predator locked on its prey."I hope you're ready to lose," Kakashi said darkly, water dripping from his uniform.
Zabuza didn't respond. He launched forward, cleaving the air with his massive blade. Kakashi met him mid-charge, kunai clashing against steel again with an explosive crack.
They moved like ghosts through the mist—blades flashing, water spraying with every step. It was impossible to look away.
I stood rooted next to Sasuke and Naruto, watching every movement, heart slamming against my ribs. My knuckles were white around the hilt of my kunai.
They're monsters, I thought, eyes locked on the two elites as they battled. Not just shinobi—monsters in human skin.
And yet, Kakashi-sensei... he was calm. Deadly. Every step calculated.
For the first time, I saw what it meant to be an elite Jonin.
And I realized how far behind we really were.
"You saw that, right?" Sasuke muttered beside me, his voice tight with something that sounded almost like fear—but deeper. "Kakashi... he's copying Zabuza's moves exactly."
I nodded silently, eyes tracking every move.
The Sharingan.
It didn't just see—it learned. Every jutsu. Every motion.
"Kakashi-sensei's copying his jutsu in real time..." I whispered.
Naruto stared, slack-jawed. "How the hell do you even fight against that?"
Zabuza was realizing it too. I could see it in the way his strikes grew more reckless. Desperate. Kakashi mirrored every movement, parried every attack like he already knew what was coming.
Their voices echoed through the mist.
"You won't beat me with my own techniques!" Zabuza snarled.
"But I already have," Kakashi replied coolly.
Suddenly, the water around Zabuza surged unnaturally. My eyes widened.
That's not him—
"Kakashi, behind you!" I shouted instinctively.
But Kakashi had already moved—his clone burst into water, revealing the real Kakashi behind Zabuza.
"You let me inside your head," Kakashi said, his voice like a blade.
Zabuza whirled around too late.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" Kakashi shouted.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" Zabuza echoed, trying to keep up.
But Kakashi had already formed the seals faster—one step ahead the entire time.
Two massive water dragons exploded from the mist, colliding midair with a force that rocked the entire bridge. Waves crashed over us, and I threw up my arms to shield my face as the ground trembled.
When I looked up again, Zabuza was on one knee, panting heavily. Blood dripped from his arm. Kakashi stood over him, unshaken, like a reaper with a glowing red eye.
"Now," he said coldly. "It's over."
I took a slow breath. My chest was tight, my legs trembling, but I didn't move. Couldn't.
This is the world we're stepping into, I thought. A world where one wrong move means death. Where strength isn't just survival—it's everything.
I clenched my jaw.
If I want to protect Sasuke... if I want to protect anyone... I have to get stronger. No matter what it takes.
Sasuke was staring too—quiet, eyes narrowed, Sharingan flickering faintly in one eye. He was absorbing it all. I could tell.
Just like me.
The mist began to clear, and for a moment, it felt like we could breathe again.
But we were wrong.
A sharp whistle cut through the air. Then—
Thunk.
A pair of senbon needles embedded in Zabuza's neck.
"What—?!" I gasped, stepping forward.
A slim figure emerged from the trees, masked and dressed like a Hunter-nin.
"Zabuza Momochi," the stranger said. "He is no longer your concern."
Kakashi's eye narrowed. "A Hunter-nin...?"
Sasuke frowned. "What's going on now?"
"I'll explain later," Kakashi said quietly, but he didn't lower his guard.
The masked shinobi approached Zabuza's body and picked it up effortlessly.
"Thank you for weakening him," the stranger said. "I'll take it from here."
And with that, they vanished into the mist, Zabuza's body disappearing with them.
Silence fell over the bridge again, broken only by the waves below.
I lowered my kunai slowly, my hands still shaking.
We'd survived. But I couldn't shake the feeling...
That this wasn't the end.
Just the beginning.
