Distance❤ : we came close but the distances never reduced

Part 24

Ashika was satisfied with Jai's answer and  was getting ready to leave.

Jai: Let me drop you

Ashi: No its fine. I'll walk.

Jai held her hand led her outside: shut up. You think I will let you walk alone.

Ashi's heart fluttered as Jai held her hand. She had butterflies in her stomach, first time ever. She didn't need protection, but she felt happy and safe beside him.

They walked out of the house as quietly as they could. Fortunately Bhabhi and everyone were asleep.

Finally Ashi regained conscience, she spoke up: Jai if mama papa see you??

Jai leaving her hand. looking deep in her eyes, looking right into her soul: I will make sure that they don't see me. But I won't let you go alone ever especially at night. I know you are strong but let me come for my satisfaction.

Ashi nodded with a smile. They continued walking and she held on to his hand. She felt complete and happy. She always used to be scared about her future in laws and husband. But just a glimpse of Jai made all of that go away.

They walked for a while until, Ashi saw a tea stall. She stopped and looked at Jai with puppy eyes.

Jai tried to strong against her : We are going to get late. But who can win against a drama queen.

He finally agreed and they both headed to the stall. They both got chai and cookies.

Jai: chai achi hain

Ashi nodded like a little kid lost in her forever lover chai.

Jai smiled and paid for the chai and they both left.

Jai: baki wives apne husband ke spending shopping pe karati hain aur tum khane pe. Tum kisi aur hi miti ki bani ho.

Ashi blushed as Jai called them husband and wife.

They both laughed and made their way to her house. Near Ashi's house they both stopped.

Ashi stopped and faced Jai: Thank you

Jai flaunted his cute smile: My pleasure

As Jaishi bid each other good bye, a car came. Jai was going to leave but the car started to come towards Ashi and stopped near her. Jai got worried for her as 5 men came out of the car and started to walk towards them. Jai looked towards Ashi to make sure if she knew them. After getting no for a response, he moved towards them to ask what is the problem.

Jai: apko kya chahiya

Man 1: mind your business, hume uss ladki se baat karni hain.

Jai forwarded his hand creating a boundary between the men and Ashi. Ashi do you know them.

Ashi looked surprised, and after some time she nodded negative.

Jai to the men: She doesn't know you so its better if you go back.

Other men try to convince Man 1 to retrieve: lets go Akshay

After getting frustrated, Akshay punched Jai: I told you to move.

Jai fell on the ground but stood up as he saw Akshay approaching Ashi.

Jai got up and kicked Akshay: and I told you to stay away from my fiancé.

Ashi looked at Jai as she was surprised by his care. She didn't need to be but she liked being protected by him.

The other men moved towards Akshay and told him to leave. But he didn't agree. Jai and Akshay got into a fight. But soon Ashi interfered.

Ashi: Stop. Jai pls

Jai couldn't see Ashi being hurt so he retrieved.

Ashi held his hand in order to calm him down: thanks. She looked towards Akshay and said: Leave.

The other men took him and they all left.

Ashi looked at Jai: Jai, you didn't have to.

Jai: this is exactly why I didn't let you go alone.

Ashi: Its ok, calm down. She started to examine his hand to make sure he was fine.

Jai: I am fine.

Ashi: Oh really, then how did you get this cut.

Jai replied: Its fine i'll put a band-aid on it later

Ashi: do you have a hanky

Jai: what

Ashi: chodo and ripped a piece of her chuni and wrapped it around.

Jai asked with a raised eyebrow: zyada filmi nahi hogaya

Ashi looked at him and said: acha aur abhi do min pehla tum ajay devgan banrahe the uska kya.

He smirked and ran his fingers through his hair. They both laughed.

Jai: Ok I should be going.

Ashi: Bye, dhyan se jana aur ache se dressing karwalena

He nodded like an obedient child.

Jai started to walk toward his house: Wo log pata nahi kyu aye they. Anyways Ashi is so cute he said examining his finger covered with Ashi's yellow chuni.

Ashi went inside her house. Luckily no one was awake. She went inside her room and quickly changed into her pyjamas. She called someone.

Ashi: Why did you come here?? Are u out of your mind. And why did you act like a jerk.

Person on the phone(POP): Oh really!! What about your FIANCE

Ashi angry: HE WAS TRYING- to protect me. She lowered her voice remembering that everyone else is asleep.

POP: whatever!!! An email is sent to you.

She ended the phone call and quickly grabbed her laptop from under her bed and quickly started to type something.

After a long research of an hour, she closed her laptop and called someone.

Ashi: I will be there.
