Making their way into the cove are Astrid Hofferson, Snotlout Jorgenson, Fishlegs Ingermen, and both Thorston twins. It does not take long for the five young adults to spot Hiccup Haddock sleeping peacefully by the shoreline of the lake without a care in the world. Then an idea came to the two Loki followers at the exact same time. But as fast as the idea of frightening Hiccup awake came to them, unfortunately for the twins they were stopped by Astrid. "Don't you two even think about it?"
"Aw man you're still not fun Astrid," Tuffnut complained disappointed that their moment to Loki the former heir was ruined by Astrid.
"Indeed, brother nut Astrid still isn't any fun after all this time," Ruffnut complained alongside her brother. Astrid gave both of them a chilling glare. "Oh, come on Astrid? Let us have a little bit of fun?" The female twin begs hoping to convince the blonde hair dragon rider to allow them to prank Hiccup.
Astrid rolls her eyes at the dramatic twins. "Let's go you two." The group are meters away from the slumbering auburn hair man. Astrid wonders why her betrothed is resting in the cove rather than in the village. It did not take long for her to figure it out on her own. She knows Hiccup would not want to be around his own father for the time being. She figured that Hiccup might not have been too comfortable with staying with her in her parent's house. It was not a secret that Hiccup was not close to his cousin and uncle, so that left staying with them out of the question. 'Why not stay with Gobber rather than here?' Astrid thinks to herself. Surely it would be much more comfortable to do that. Getting beside Hiccup, dropping down on her knees, before gently shaking Hiccup's shoulder while saying, "Hiccup wake up."
Stirring in his sleep before slowly opening his eyes to see Astrid with a warm smile. "Astrid what are you doing here?" Hiccup asked as he rubs his tried eyes, while he sat up.
"It's been a few hours since I last saw you babe. I just wanted to check to see if you're all right."
"Yeah, I'm doing much better now." The former heir than notices that he was not alone with Astrid. "Milady what are the others doing here?"
"They just wanted to ask you something important. Also more importantly why were you sleeping out here?"
"Oh well you see...I was enjoying the beautiful view of the lake in the cove before falling asleep." Hiccup half told the truth because he did not want to worry his future wife. He gives her a nervous smile as she gives him a hardened glare. Astrid already knowing Hiccup is not telling her the full truth.
"Hiccup don't make me ask again?"
"Okay fine you win. You always win. I was planning on staying here until we head back home."
"What!? Hiccup why won't you stay with Gobber?"
"I don't want to a burden to Gobber." All the blonde hair woman did is shoot him with a glare. That answer was not good enough for her to allow an injury Hiccup to stay the night in the cove. Everyone knows that Berk is well known for the freezing temperatures, especially during the night hours. The last thing they need is a sick Hiccup on their hands.
"You won't be a burden to Gobber. In fact, I bet you he would love for you to stay over."
"Astrid I just don't think that I can ask anyone from the village anything after disappearing for six years. I cannot just go to Gobber and ask him, 'Hey Gobber I know I've been gone for six years but could I crash in your home?' It's very rude to do something like that Astrid. I don't feel comfortable doing that."
"Why not stay with my parents with me instead of being out here?" Astrid questions not wanting him to stay out here, knowing that the temperature would be freezing at nighttime. The last thing he needed now was to get any illness while he is still injured.
