"I found him! It says he's in a cabin." Dean exclaimed from the laptop. Sam walked over to him to peer at the screen. Dean had put a tracking device in Castiel's phone in case anything happened to him.
"It's only two hours away." Sam stated.
"I can make it there in half. Allons-y!"
"What?"
"It's 'let's go' in French. Cas says it sometimes, says an old friend used to say it."
"Wasn't that what the Doctor used to say?"
"No, he would say 'Geronimo.' Anyway, it doesn't matter now! Come on!"
ONE HOUR LATER
"It's here! Pull in on the right."
They ran out of the car, got their weapons from the trunk, and broke through the front door. They weren't expecting to see what they saw in front of them: Cas on his knees in the center of the room, bleeding, crying, with the walls splattered in... white. There were three dead angels on the ground around Cas, torched, the depiction of their wings spread all along the floor.
Dean dropped his weapon and slowly walked over to Castiel.
"Cas? Cas, are you okay?" Dean dropped to his knees and looked Castiel over, looking for any serious injuries.
Sam kept his gun raised and walked around the cabin, making sure there weren't any other angels.
"Dean?" he looked up.
His eyes were fading white. Dean had only seen them like that when Cas was an angel. Was he an angel now? DId he remember?
"Cas, what happened?"
"I don't know." He looked down at his right palm. Dean took it in his hand to check for blood or bruises, but there were none.
"It lighted up-"
"What?"
"They kidnapped me, put me in the trunk, brought me here, and they tried to hurt me, but then I hurt them. My hand started to glow, and then my eyes, and then everything was this bright white light, and then I looked up and they were all dead. I- I killed them," Castiel's voice broke.
Dean didn't know what to say. How was this even possible? He just pulled Castiel into a hug and kissed his temple.
"Something's wrong with me, Dean-"
"Shhh don't say that."
"But there is. I'm a monster."
"No, no, no you're not."
"How do you know that? You should be running away from me. You should be trying to get as far away from me as you possibly can. I just killed three people."
"They weren't people, Cas." He pulled away from the hug and looked into Castiel's eyes. That was it, no more lying. "Those were angels, and so are you."
"This isn't the time to be flirting, Dean!"
"I'm not! I- you're an angel. Think about it, Cas. You have no living relatives, no friends besides the ones you met this year, no distinct memory of anything before this year!"
"That's not true! My parents-"
"What was your mom's madain name?"
"I- that doesn't prove anything!"
"Cas, snap out of it! Your memories have been replaced! You were never a human, you were always an angel. You don't even like law, why would you be in Stanford?"
"Dean, I'm starting to get pissed off!"
"Well, I'm sorry, but I need you to know the truth. I need you to believe the truth!"
"Why?! How do you even know?"
"Because I was in love with you, we were in love when you were an angel."
"We're in love now! Am I not good enough? Oh my God, my head is pounding!"
"Dean, calm down." It was Sam from around the corner.
Dean let out a breathe he didn't know he was holding. He turned around just in time to see Cas faint.
"Cas?"
