"Hold on!" I shouted.

We were almost flying on the highway, driving at a speed beyond limit. The demon was adamant in chasing us as it floated on air, standing with his feet above the ground. Firing his weapon on us, I fired back using my pistol, but he was good enough to dodge it.

"Damn it!" I uttered.

"Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven . . ." Gideon once again said his prayers, holding on to his seat with all his might.

"Pray louder, Gideon! You still have the time to chant when you can help me kill these sh*t, you idiot!" I screamed as I fired at the demon.

I fired. He dodged. He fired. I dodged. Being a gymnast myself, I was already bending my body in any position that I could think of while firing my weapon at the enemy. The cycle continued, and I was getting furious that the demon seemed more powerful than me.

Not long after that, he maliciously grinned like Joker. The look on his face was telling me something bad was gonna happen, and I was right. His ugly huge black wings suddenly spread out, and he flew into the air. He landed on the ground miles away ahead, facing our direction and was smiling like our death was in his hands. As we got to where he stood, he raised one hand to snap his finger. Wasting no time, I grabbed Gideon from his seat behind me and shoved the pistol into his mouth.

"Kill him," I uttered.

The demon snapped his finger, and his black wings fired a fiery furnace towards us. As if he had a choice, Gideon spread his wings which emitted a blinding light. The demon was caught off-guard and lost his focus.

"Gotcha," I said in a low voice and smirked before firing at him.

The bullet passed through Gideon's wings and pierced into the demon's heart. The demon screamed like hell and was consumed by his own fire. Watching him burn, I stopped the car without taking my eyes off of him while Gideon was seated beside me, frozen in shock with his outspread wings.

"Good cat," I said, patting his head.

I cleared my throat to break the awkward silence. Chewing my food, Gideon sat in front of me with a piece of roasted lamb on his plate and a glass of wine beside it. His eyes and mouth were wide open, and his tail was standing straight like his fur. I dipped my fork into a bowl of pasta and twirled it before eating the delicious strands of cooked flour which was turned into a munching tool for a human stomach. Snapping my finger in front of his eyes didn't even seem to work. Swallowing my food slowly until the bowl was empty, I looked at his entire body and tried to stop myself from bursting into laughter. I stood up and walked slowly to the refrigerator with my eyes glued on him. Opening the fridge and taking out a bottle of milk, I gulped the cold liquid without taking my attention away from him. After consuming my favorite drink, I put the empty bottle back in the fridge and returned to my seat. The room was clothed with an eerie silence that I was beginning to think halloween was coming. Placing the fork on my plate, I sighed and cleaned my mouth before taking a deep breath.

"Gideon? Hey," I said. "Ah . . . I-I'm sorry for . . . you know . . . for using your powers without your permission. Ahm . . . I just didn't have a choice. We would have been killed."

Gideon didn't respond.

"Listen . . . I . . . honestly am thankful for what you're doing to me," I continued. "Ahm . . . I think you're the best guardian angel in the world," I added before smiling.

He was still unresponsive. I took a deep breath once more.

"Giddy . . I am so sorry. Can you forgive me please?"

I suddenly pictured myself looking crazy talking to a sulking feline.

"I'm sorry, Giddy. I know what I did was wrong, but I do hope you'd forgive me. Ah . . . I gotta hit the sack now and . . . I'll leave your favorite food on your plate, okay? Suit yourself," I said softly before standing up and turning my back away from him.

He seemed to be really angry so I decided to lie on the sofa to give him space. I covered my face with a pillow and stretched my arms. His plate started to sound shortly after, and I could sense him finally eating his food. I ignored him and continued to give myself a break from a hard day's work.

Gideon grinned as he ate his meal heartily. He was closing his eyes while slowly consuming every fiber of the hot roasted lamb like a king. He could be imagining me as his servant, feeding every inch of his appetite to please him.

"Mmmm . . . This is life," he said, smiling. "It's a beautiful life, oh oh . . .It's a beautiful life." He sang quietly as he took the glass of wine from the table. As he was about to gulp his drink, the glass flew against the wall and scattered its debris all over the floor. Gideon looked at me with suspicion but was confused to see me lying in the same position with a pillow on my face.

"Nice try, idiot," I muttered.

Gideon's jaw dropped.

"I wanna go home," he said.

"Barachiel, do you think Micca would find Human at all?" one of the angels asked.

"He will. He had to," Barachiel answered.

"But how could he find him? Time is running out, and his vessel seems a hindrance in fulfilling his mission. I strongly suggest he change his vessel, Archangel Barachiel."

"I know. There's something about his vessel. A threat, I could say."

"A threat? What do you mean his vessel is a threat?"

Barachiel did not answer.

"I think we should find the right vessel for him, Archangel Barachiel. A perfect vessel for him to possess—"

"That is impossible, Archangel Gabriel. There's nothing we can do . . . for now."

"But why? We have to do something. If Micca fails to find Human, God almighty would be angry at us. He entrusted Human to our care—"

"Micca . . . is possessed. Not the other way around."

Gabriel's eyes went wide.

"But . . . how?"

"I don't know, but there's something evil going on. Do not tell this to anyone. Not yet," Barachiel answered, looking into Gabriel's eyes.
