Fake It: Senior Year

Exciting News

A week after returning home from my school trip in Australia, I was in my room, doing my school homework on my laptop when my dad came into my room. "Hi.", Dad greeted. "Hey, Dad.", I smiled. My dad came up to me and gave me a kiss on my head. "What are you doing?", Dad asked.

"Nothing, just doing my homework.", I smiled. "Your mom wants to know if you wanna join us for movie night, Courtney and Jack are here to join us.", Dad replied. "Sure, I'm almost done with my homework and I'll come down soon.", I replied. "Ok.", Dad smiled, as he was about to leave. 

"Don't forget the popcorn!", I called out. "Will do.", Dad laughed. Suddenly, a notification pops up from my laptop. It's coming from my emails. I open up my emails and it was an email from Sydney Uni. I click on it and it opens up. 

I read the email very carefully and it says that they accept me into the uni. My eyes went big and I let out a huge gasp. Downstairs, my parents and siblings are in the living room, preparing for the movie night, when they heard me screaming so loud. 

"Mia!", Jack cried, as he ran up the stairs, with my sisters and parents right behind him. My family barge into my room in a panic. "What's wrong?", Jack asked. I turned around with a smile. "I got into Sydney Uni!", I cried. Everyone is surprised and scream with joy. 

Everyone came up to my laptop to read my email and they all embrace me with excitement. "I got in!", I screamed. "We're so proud of you, sweetheart.", Mom smiled. "Thanks, Mom.", I smiled. "My little girl's growing up.", Dad sighed, which made me smile. "It's exciting! We have to let Katie and Josie know.", Mom replied. 

I video called Katie and Josie and told them about my acceptance to Sydney Uni, and they were both so happy for me. "We're so happy for you, Mia.", Katie replied. "Thanks, Katie.", I smiled. "You see, never give up.", Josie smiled.

"Thanks, guys and I wanna say I'm sorry for taking it out on you guys the other day.", I sighed. "That's ok, it was a while ago.", Josie smiled. "But we are so proud of you, Mia.", Katie replied. After ending the video call, my family and I went down to enjoy our family movie night. 

After the movie night, I video call Margot and Araminta about getting into Sydney Uni and they are so happy for me. "That's amazing, Mia. Now, you have to choose either SCSU or Sydney Uni.", Margot replied. "Does Grayson know about your acceptance to Sydney Uni?", Araminta asked. 

"No I haven't. I promised him that I would go to SCSU, to be close to him from Yale.", I sighed. "Mia, if you want to go to Sydney Uni, then you can. It's your decision to make, not Grayson's.", Margot replied. "If I chose Sydney Uni, it'll crush him, and he hates being far away from me.", I cried. 

"Mia, this is your choice. If you really want to go to Sydney Uni, you have to tell Grayson sooner or later, because it you wait any longer, he'll find out. He deserves to know the truth.", Araminta replied. 

Margot and Araminta are right, I couldn't keep it from Grayson, I had to tell him sooner as possible, but in my heart, I would break his heart and my promise that I would be close to him. After lots of thinking, I finally decide where I want to go to college, I told my family.

"I decided to go to Sydney Uni.", I replied. My family are so proud and happy for me. "You made a good choice, honey.", Dad smiled. "We're all so proud of you.", Mom smiled. 

I hugged my whole family and I wonder how am I going to tell Grayson about me going to Sydney Uni, and not SCSU. "How am I going to tell him?", I asked to myself. 

 8 MONTHS LATER...
