Fake It: Senior Year

A Miracle

During our dessert course, my dads stood up from his seat to make a toast, clinking his fork onto his glass of champagne.

"May I have everybody's attention? I would to make a toast. Thank you for coming and celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary with us. I like to thank my wonderful children for celebrating this special night with us and I like to thank my beautiful and amazing wife, Tina for keeping this marriage happy and making me the happiest man alive. I love you, my darling. Happy Anniversary.", Dad sighed.

Everyone started clapping as my parents share a kiss in front of us, before we all resume to enjoy our dessert. Grayson see me looking at my parents. "Hey, you ok?", Grayson asked. "Look at them, Gray. They look so happy after 30 years.", I sighed.

"Well, you got lucky parents, babe. Some people don't have parents are still happily together after getting married for so long.", Grayson replied. "Yeah, I guess I'm lucky.", I smiled. I then turn to face him.

"I'm glad I have you, Gray.", I sighed. Grayson smiles and held my hands. "Me too.", Grayson smiled, as I smile at him back. Suddenly, Maria started cry in pain. "Ow!", she cried. Courtney jump out of her seat and  came to her aid. "Maria? What's wrong?", Courtney asked. "My tummy hurts.", Maria cried. 

Courtney touched Maria's baby bump and she knew what is wrong. "Is my baby ok?", Maria asked, as Jack comforts her. "Your water just broke, your baby is coming.", Courtney replied. Everyone gasp in shock, so did my family and I. "But the baby's not due until next week.", Jack replied. 

"Yes, but it's possible that a baby can be due earlier than the expected date. We have to take her to the hospital right now. Call an ambulance!", Courtney replied. Jack pulls out his phone and calls for an ambulance. Later, Maria was taken to hospital by paramedics with excruciating pain, and Jack by her side, trying to comfort her. 

My whole family and I, including Grayson came to the hospital. Courtney came out of the car, to help Maria. Maria was taken to the ER, with Jack by her side, and Courtney to deliver the baby. My family and I stayed outside in the waiting room, waiting for the news. 

In the waiting room, Courtney and her husband, Phillip's twins, James and Juliet are getting tired, as they try to sleep comfortable. Phillip decided to take them home. "Hey, the twins are getting tired, so I'm going to take them home, to sleep.", Phillip replied. 

"Sure, we'll tell Courtney when she comes out.", Dad replied. "Thank you. Come on, kids. Let's go home.", Phillip replied. "Where's Mommy?", Juliet asked. "She's working right now, she'll be home soon. Come on, let's go home.", Phillip replied, as he takes the twins' hands and walk out of the hospital together. 

5 hours later, everyone is still waiting for the news and eventually, Courtney came out with exciting news. Everyone saw her and stood up, gathering in front of her. Courtney then smiles. "It's a girl.", Courtney smiled, as everyone cries with joy. I was happy, as I have another niece. 

Everyone went to go and see the newborn baby and as we all entered the room, we see Jack with Maria, holding her newborn daughter in her arms. As we lay eyes on her baby, we instantly fell in love. My parents are over the moon, that their newborn grandchild was born on their anniversary. 

"She's beautiful.", Mom sighed. "Thanks, Mom.", Jack smiled. "Have you decided on a name?", Dad asked. "Yes, we do.", Jack replied. "Everyone, meet Allegra Farrah Swann.", Maria smiled. "Allegra, that's a beautiful name.", Mom smiled. "I love it.", I smiled. 

As my family gathering in the room and enjoying Allegra, Grayson and I were standing outside the room, watching my family enjoying my niece. "Congratulations on your niece.", Grayson smiled. 

"Thanks, baby.", I sighed. "Anyways, we still have plenty of time. What do you wanna do?", Grayson asked. I didn't say a word, but I smiled at him.
