Chapter 8

In Japan

"Hey, Mizuki-nee-chan's on!" A girl shouted, it was Tanaka Kyoko, older sister of S Rank hunter, Tanaka Mizuki.

"umm...let's continue." Her sister, Tanaka Mizuki said shyly on the TV.

"Aww she's so strong now, what happened to her?" Tanaka Mai, her mother, questioned.

It showed the battle between the hunters against the S Rank ants.

"Japanese hunter Tanaka Mizuki has successfully killed the S Rank Boss Ant Queen! The raid's cleared!"

Tanaka Mai and Kyoko cheered in the house, but they clearly didn't see the expression of genuine fear on Mizuki's face.

"Guys...I think we awoke the sleeping beast."

As if on cue, a black humanoid ant walked into the cave. Its magical energy filled the room with its strength, every single hunter in the room buckled.

It ignored us and walked straight to the queen's corpse. It let out a cry of anguish and pain.

Hunter Baek roared and ran to engage it, but he was defeated with ease, Hunter Cha was easily knocked into the wall.

I was standing there, frozen. I was scared.

How could such a monster exist?

Hunter Ma got both his arms clawed off.

We're all going to die.

It caught Hunter Lim's arrow with its bare hand, it hit him so hard it looked as if his neck spun in 360 degrees.

Why did I try so hard to get into this raid?

It landed a deep cut on Hunter Choi's chest, making him fall down with a mouth full of blood.

Then it set its eyes on me.

I fell to the floor, I looked it straight in the eyes, I gave up. I can't keep my promise to my family.

"Snap out of it Mizuki!" Hunter Baek and Ma shouted at the same time as they charged the ant again, their injuries healed completely by Hunter Byung Gyu, but they were knocked away with ease once more.

I gripped my scythe. If I was going to die, I'm going to die after I kill this damn bastard.

"D-dominate."

I took control of its arms.

"Hands of the Ruler."

I lifted it up into the air, applying as much pressure on its neck as I could.

I slowly walked up to it, I gritted my teeth. It hurt using dominate to stop its arms from cutting my neck.

The gold light crushing its neck was finally taking effect. I raised my scythe to land the finishing blow, then I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my chest.

I looked down at my bloodstained armor. I fell down, both skills deactivated, it kicked me across the room. I heard a crack sound coming out of my chest. I landed next to Hunter Cha.

Byung Gyu attempted to heal hunter Cha and I at the same time. But he got his chest pierced by the bug's arm, he then got his head bitten off. I heard Baek scream his friend's name before screaming in rage and charging the monster once more.

"H-hae In, it w-was nice knowing you." I said while closing my eyes, preparing to die.

"N-nonono, please don't die on me." I heard her desperate voice say, before she passed out herself.

"Who is the king of humans?" The bug demanded in Byung Gyu's voice. He ran out after saying something I couldn't hear.
