Chapter 22: The Taki Ghost.
Not edited.
Melanie Anderson.
So I lied.
I secretly had food hidden under that bean bag chair in the corner of the room. It was not only dark, but it was hot and Nico and Jeremy arguing didn't make it any better.
"Oh yea because you can treat her better." Jeremy pointed out.
"I can and I will. You aren't even nice to her. Who wants someone who treats them like shit?" Nico stated. I never heard him curse before... He must be really angry or.
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVERRRR, that voice in my head sang. She's obsessed with frozen.
As the boys argued I got out the bag of Takis and half of a turkey and muenster cheese sandwich I had with a bottle of water.
There was no way I was sharing this. Sorry but food is life.
I opened the bag of Takis as quietly as I could.
"What was that?" Jeremy looked around trying to figure out what the noise was.
"Probably something outside," I suggested directing their attention towards the front door of the bookstore.
"Eh probably. It sounded like rustling of a bag. Maybe the wind from outside?" Nico said.
I nodded in agreement.
"Maybe the wind from outside," Jeremy mocked. What is he, like 5?
"Oh shut up. Your just mad because Lanie agreed."
I pulled out a taki from the bag and licked off the spice because I didn't want to chew so loud.
"Her name is Melanie. Say it with me big boy. Mel-a-nie." said Jeremy.
Crunch. Crunch.
Shit I forgot to not chew the taki.
"Okay what was that? That's definitely not wind." Nico looked around to see what had caused the noise.
Jeremy decided to look around the bookstore too.
"Oh my gosh guys I think the bookstore is haunted." I stated.
I don't think I'm doing a good job at not drawing attention to myself.
They both looked at me dumbly.
"A ghost?" Jeremy smirked. "Really Mel?" He questioned.
"Yea one of the kids told me they saw one in here once!" Lies just kept spitting out like wildfire.
I don't even lie that often!
It was dark but you could still clearly see the way Nico's Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he swallowed.
Was he scared?
"There c- can't be a ghost. R- right?" He stuttered a bit.
Yep definitely scared.
"Hmm let's check!" Jeremy was now running off away somewhere, after a moment of silence between Nico and I we heard a loud thud. Eventually followed by a yell.
"HELP ME!" Jeremy's voice echoing through the first floor of the bookstore.
Nico came towards me and he was basically hugging me really tight at this point.
"Are you okay?" I asked him. His face turned to me and he didn't say anything for a couple of seconds. He just looked at me. Then he nodded his head. "I am now."

That's the shortest chapter ever. I know. I'm sorry. I'm not even going to make an excuse because there isn't one this time. I was too lazy to upload. And I just kept reading. And reading.
I really like the whole Death Is My BFF series here on Wattpad.
I was gonna say Netflix instead of WATTPAD:0
I was also really into gossip girl and I told my friend to watch it and she didn't want to.
But then she did and binged and she finished it before me and completely ruined it by telling me who gossip girl was.
:/ she was lucky it was her birthday.
Well anyways.
Random thought of the day: chipotle and starbucks together are like the perfect mixture for diarrhea. Oh and do you wanna build a snowman??⛄️⛄️
